1. Introduction

The Bisofice H5 Handheld POS Terminal is a versatile device designed for various business applications, including retail, restaurants, and logistics. It integrates an Android 8.1 operating system, a high-speed thermal printer, and a 1D/2D barcode scanner into a compact, portable unit. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your device.

2. Product Overview

2.1 Key Features

2.2 Package Contents

Ensure all items are present upon unboxing:

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

  1. Connect the provided Type-C cable to the charging port on the device.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the charger (Input: AC 100-240V, Output: 5V, 2A) and plug it into a power outlet.
  3. The device will indicate charging status on the screen. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.

3.2 SIM Card Installation

The device supports a standard SIM card for 3G network communication.

  1. Locate the SIM card slot on the device.
  2. Carefully insert your standard SIM card into the slot, ensuring correct orientation.
  3. Gently push until the SIM card is securely in place.

3.3 Thermal Paper Installation

The integrated thermal printer uses 58mm wide thermal paper rolls.

  1. Open the printer cover located at the top of the device.
  2. Insert the thermal paper roll (58x40mm recommended) into the compartment, ensuring the paper feeds out from the bottom of the roll.
  3. Pull a small length of paper out beyond the cutting edge.
  4. Close the printer cover firmly until it clicks into place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually on the side) until the screen lights up.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the options displayed on the screen.
  • To Restart: Press and hold the power button, then select 'Restart' from the options.

4.2 Basic Navigation

The device operates like a standard Android smartphone. Use the 5.0-inch IPS touchscreen for navigation:

  • Tap: To select an item or open an application.
  • Swipe: To scroll through menus or pages.
  • Pinch/Spread: To zoom in or out (if supported by the application).

4.3 Printing Receipts

To print receipts, you will need a compatible POS application installed on the device. Once the application is set up:

  1. Ensure thermal paper is correctly loaded (refer to Section 3.3).
  2. Open your POS application and complete the transaction or select the document to print.
  3. Initiate the print command within the application. The device's integrated thermal printer will automatically print the receipt.

4.4 Barcode Scanning

The device's 2-megapixel rear camera functions as a 1D/2D barcode scanner.

  1. Open an application that supports barcode scanning.
  2. Point the rear camera at the barcode you wish to scan.
  3. Ensure the barcode is within the camera's focus area. The application will typically provide visual feedback upon successful scan.

4.5 Network Connectivity

The device supports multiple connectivity options:

  • Wi-Fi: Go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi to connect to available wireless networks.
  • 3G: Ensure a valid SIM card is installed. Go to Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network to configure mobile data settings.
  • Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth to pair with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Device

  • Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and exterior of the device.
  • For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Do not spray liquids directly onto the device.

5.2 Battery Care

  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, which can degrade battery life.
  • For optimal battery longevity, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • If the device will not be used for an extended period, charge it to about 50% before storing.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device is slow or unresponsive: Try closing background applications. If the issue persists, restart the device.
  • Cannot print receipts: Ensure thermal paper is loaded correctly and the printer cover is closed. Verify that the printing application is configured properly and has sufficient permissions. Check for any error messages on the screen.
  • Cannot change language from Chinese: Navigate to Settings > System > Languages & input > Languages to select your preferred language.
  • Missing charger or other parts: Contact your vendor or Bisofice customer support for assistance.
  • Network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi/3G/Bluetooth): Check network settings. For Wi-Fi, ensure you have the correct password. For 3G, verify SIM card installation and mobile data plan. For Bluetooth, ensure the device you are trying to connect to is discoverable.
