3. Setup
Unpacking and Initial Cleaning
Before using your Chefman InstaCoffee for the first time, carefully unpack all components and remove any packaging materials. Wash the removable K-Cup holder, reusable filter, and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
First Use (Water-Only Cycle)
To prime the system and remove any manufacturing residue, perform a water-only brewing cycle:
- Place the coffee maker on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Lift the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the 12-ounce mark. Do not add any coffee.
- Close the lid securely.
- Place an empty mug on the drip tray.
- Plug the coffee maker into a standard 120V AC outlet.
- Press the brew button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the brewing process will begin.
- Once the cycle is complete and the light turns off, discard the hot water.
- Repeat this process once more to ensure thorough cleaning.
4. Operating Instructions
Brewing with K-Cup Pods
Enjoy your favorite single-serve coffee with ease:
- Place your coffee mug on the removable drip tray. The drip tray can be adjusted or removed to accommodate taller travel mugs.
- Lift the lid of the coffee maker.
- Insert a K-Cup pod into the K-Cup holder. Ensure it is seated correctly.
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water. The internal markings indicate water levels from 6 to 12 ounces. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
- Close the lid firmly until it clicks into place.
- Press the brew button. The indicator light will turn red, signifying that brewing has started.
- Coffee will begin dispensing into your mug. The brewing process typically takes 2 minutes or less.
- Once brewing is complete, the indicator light will turn off. Carefully remove your hot coffee.
- Allow the unit to cool before removing the used K-Cup pod.

Brewing with Ground Coffee
For a customized brew using your preferred ground coffee:
- Place your coffee mug on the removable drip tray.
- Lift the lid of the coffee maker.
- If the K-Cup holder is in place, remove it.
- Insert the reusable coffee filter into the brewing chamber. Add your desired amount of ground coffee to the filter (typically 1-2 tablespoons per 6 ounces of water, adjust to taste). Do not overfill.
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water according to your desired coffee volume (6-12 ounces).
- Close the lid firmly until it clicks into place.
- Press the brew button. The indicator light will turn red, and brewing will commence.
- Once brewing is complete, the indicator light will turn off. Carefully remove your hot coffee.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Daily Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance and taste, clean your coffee maker regularly:
- After each use, remove and discard the used K-Cup pod or ground coffee from the reusable filter.
- Rinse the K-Cup holder and reusable filter under running water.
- Remove the drip tray and empty any accumulated liquid. Wash the drip tray and its cover in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp, soft cloth.
Self-Cleaning Function (Descaling)
The Chefman InstaCoffee features a self-cleaning function to prevent mineral buildup, which can affect brewing performance and coffee taste. It is recommended to descale the unit every 1-3 months, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.
- Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
- Place an empty mug on the drip tray.
