Setup

Setting the Combination Lock

Your DELSEY PARIS Helium DLX luggage is equipped with an integrated TSA-accepted combination lock. The initial factory setting is 0-0-0.

1. Open the lock by sliding the button (A) in the direction of the arrow.
2. With the lock open, use a pen or pointed object to press the reset button (B) until you hear a 'click'.
3. Set your desired 3-digit combination by turning the dials (C).
4. Slide the button (A) again in the direction of the arrow. The reset button (B) will pop back up, and you will hear another 'click'.
5. Your new combination is now set. Remember your combination as DELSEY PARIS cannot retrieve lost combinations.

Operating Instructions

Using the Telescopic Handle

To extend the telescopic handle, press the button located on the top of the handle and pull upwards. Release the button to lock the handle at your desired height. To retract, press the button and push the handle downwards until it is fully nested.

Utilizing Expandable Capacity

To expand your luggage, locate the secondary zipper running along the perimeter of the main compartment. Unzip this zipper to increase the packing depth by approximately 2 inches. Zip it back up to return to the standard carry-on size.

Maneuvering with Spinner Wheels

The dual density double-spinner wheels allow for multi-directional movement. For optimal maneuverability, keep the luggage upright and push it alongside you. This reduces the weight on your arm and allows for smooth gliding through airports and other surfaces.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Fabric

The DuraTec fabric is designed for durability. For general cleaning, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the fabric. Allow the luggage to air dry completely before storage.

Wheel and Zipper Care

Periodically check the spinner wheels for any debris or hair that may impede their movement. Clean as necessary. For zippers, occasionally apply a silicone-based lubricant to ensure smooth operation, especially after exposure to dust or sand.

Troubleshooting

Luggage Tipping Forward

If your luggage tends to tip forward when standing upright, ensure that heavier items are packed towards the bottom and rear of the suitcase, closer to the wheels. Distribute weight evenly to maintain balance. Avoid overpacking the front exterior pockets with heavy items.

Stuck Telescopic Handle

If the telescopic handle becomes difficult to extend or retract, check for any obstructions in the handle mechanism. Ensure the release button is fully depressed when operating the handle. Avoid forcing the handle, as this can cause damage.

Zipper Malfunction

If a zipper becomes stiff or difficult to move, apply a small amount of zipper lubricant or a graphite pencil lead along the teeth. Slowly work the zipper back and forth to distribute the lubricant. Avoid pulling zippers with excessive force.
