1. Important Safety Instructions

Always read and understand all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

1.1 General Power Tool Safety Warnings

  • Work Area Safety: Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces.
  • Personal Safety: Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Always wear eye protection. Use personal protective equipment such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection when appropriate.
  • Power Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.

1.2 Circular Saw Specific Safety Warnings

  • Cutting Procedures: DANGER: Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on the auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade.
  • Guard Function: Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard cannot protect you from the blade below the workpiece.
  • Kickback Prevention: Avoid kickback. Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound, or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator.
  • Blade Selection: Use only saw blades with the correct size and shape (diamond versus round) of arbor holes. Blades that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control.
  • Maintenance: Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolt. The blade washers and bolt were specially designed for your saw, for optimum performance and safety of operation.

3. Setup

3.1 Installing/Changing the Saw Blade

Always ensure the tool is unplugged from the power source before performing any adjustments or blade changes.

  1. Disconnect the circular saw from the power supply.
  2. Press and hold the spindle lock button to prevent the blade from rotating.
  3. Using the provided hex key, loosen the blade bolt by turning it counter-clockwise.
  4. Lift the lower blade guard and remove the blade bolt and outer flange.
  5. Carefully remove the old saw blade. Install the new 185mm 24T saw blade, ensuring the rotation direction arrows on the blade match the direction arrow on the saw's guard.
  6. Replace the outer flange and blade bolt. Tighten the blade bolt securely with the hex key while holding the spindle lock button.

3.2 Adjusting Cutting Depth

The cutting depth can be adjusted to suit the thickness of your workpiece. For optimal safety and performance, set the blade depth so that the blade extends approximately 3-6mm below the material being cut.

  1. Loosen the depth adjustment lever located on the side of the saw.
  2. Raise or lower the base plate to achieve the desired cutting depth. The saw allows for a maximum cutting depth of 65mm at 90° and 45mm at 45°.
  3. Securely tighten the depth adjustment lever.

3.3 Adjusting Bevel Angle

The saw can make bevel cuts up to 45 degrees. Ensure the tool is unplugged before making adjustments.

  1. Loosen the bevel adjustment lever.
  2. Tilt the base plate to the desired angle (0° to 45°).
  3. Tighten the bevel adjustment lever firmly to secure the angle.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Cutting

Before starting, ensure your workpiece is securely clamped and your cutting line is marked. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

  1. Plug the saw into a suitable power outlet.
  2. Hold the saw firmly with both hands, one on the main handle and one on the auxiliary handle.
  3. Press the safety lock button, then squeeze the trigger switch to start the saw. Allow the blade to reach full speed before contacting the workpiece.
  4. Guide the saw along your marked cutting line, applying steady, even pressure. Do not force the saw; let the blade do the work.
  5. For straight cuts, use the parallel guide or a clamped straight edge.
  6. Once the cut is complete, release the trigger switch and allow the blade to stop completely before lifting the saw from the workpiece.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your circular saw. Always unplug the tool before any maintenance.

5.1 Cleaning

  • Keep the ventilation openings of the tool clean to prevent motor overheating.
  • Regularly clean the base plate and blade guard to ensure smooth operation and proper blade retraction.
  • Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from the tool. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.

5.2 Blade Care

  • Inspect the saw blade before each use for any signs of damage, dullness, or missing teeth. Replace damaged blades immediately.
  • Ensure the blade is always sharp for efficient and safe cutting. A dull blade can cause kickback and strain the motor.
  • Store spare blades in a dry, protected area to prevent rust and damage.
