Setup and Installation

The PROOX All Metal Tub Spout is designed for easy installation and offers three connection methods. Ensure your existing pipe protrudes between 1-1/2" and 2-7/8" from the finished wall.

Connection Methods:

  1. 1/2 inch Slip-on Pipe: Use the pre-installed 3/4" to 1/2" slip-on adapter.
  2. 3/4 inch Thread Pipe: Connect directly to the spout.
  3. 1/2 inch Thread Pipe: Use the provided 3/4" to 1/2" thread adapter.

Apply Teflon tape to threaded connections to ensure a watertight seal. Carefully tighten all connections to prevent leaks without overtightening, which can damage components.

Handheld Shower Head Holder Installation:

If using the adhesive shower head holder, peel off the backing and firmly press it onto a clean, dry wall surface. Allow the adhesive to set for at least 24 hours before hanging the handheld shower head to ensure a secure bond and prevent it from detaching due to weight.

Operating Instructions

The tub spout features an ergonomic diverter rod for easy switching between tub fill and handheld shower functions.

Diverter Function:

  • To fill the tub: Ensure the diverter rod is pushed down. Water will flow from the tub spout.
  • To use the handheld shower: Lift the diverter rod up. Water will be redirected to the handheld shower head.

Handheld Shower Head Operation:

If your handheld shower head has a pause function or multiple spray settings, use the corresponding buttons or levers on the shower head itself to adjust the water flow or spray pattern.

Maintenance

To maintain the chrome finish and ensure optimal performance, clean the tub spout regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish. The all-metal construction is designed to resist corrosion and tarnishing.

Troubleshooting

  • Leaks from connections: Ensure all connections are tight and that Teflon tape was applied correctly to threaded pipes. Check washers for proper seating and damage.
  • Water not fully diverting to shower head: Verify the diverter rod is fully pulled up. Inspect the diverter mechanism for any obstructions or damage.
  • Spout not flush with wall: Confirm that the pipe protrusion from the wall is within the specified range of 1-1/2" to 2-7/8". Adjust pipe length if necessary.
  • Handheld shower head holder detaching: Ensure the wall surface was clean and dry before application. Allow sufficient curing time (at least 24 hours) before applying weight.
