Important Safety Instructions

  • Ensure the cooktop is installed by a qualified technician in accordance with local regulations.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • Unplug the appliance from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • Keep children away from the cooktop during operation and when it is cooling down. The cooktop features a child safety lock.
  • Use only compatible magnetic cookware (cast iron, enameled steel, magnetic stainless steel).
  • Do not place metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons, and lids on the cooktop surface as they can get hot.
  • The cooktop has residual heat indicators; surfaces remain hot after use.
  • Automatic shut-off function activates if the surface overheats or incompatible cookware is detected.

Setup and Installation

The Hermitlux IM2S2 induction cooktop is designed for built-in installation. Proper dimensions and ventilation are crucial for safe operation.

Dimensions and Cut-out

Product dimensions: 288 mm (width) x 520 mm (length) x 56 mm (height). The required cut-out size for installation is 268 mm (width) x 500 mm (length).

Electrical Connection

The cooktop operates on 220-240V. Ensure the electrical supply meets the appliance's requirements (3500W total power). A standard 220V plug is included.

Ventilation

Adequate ventilation is necessary to prevent overheating. Ensure sufficient airflow around the appliance, especially underneath. Refer to the installation diagram for specific clearance requirements.

Operating Instructions

The Hermitlux IM2S2 features a touch control panel for easy operation.

Power On/Off

Press the power button to turn the cooktop on or off.

Adjusting Power Levels

The cooktop offers 9 power levels. Use the touch slider or '+' and '-' buttons to select the desired heat setting for each cooking zone. The upper zone has a maximum power of 2000W, and the lower zone has a maximum power of 1500W.

Booster Function

Activate the Booster function for rapid heating, reaching the maximum 3500W total power quickly. This function is ideal for boiling water rapidly.

Timer Function

Set the timer for each cooking zone from 1 to 99 minutes. The cooktop will automatically turn off the selected zone once the set time expires.

Child Safety Lock

To prevent accidental operation, activate the child safety lock. This will disable the control panel. Refer to the control panel diagram for the specific lock button.

Stop&Go Function

The Stop&Go function allows you to pause cooking at any time and resume with the same settings. Press the Stop&Go button to pause, and press it again to continue.

Cookware Compatibility

Induction cooktops require cookware with a magnetic base. Compatible materials include cast iron, enameled steel, and magnetic stainless steel. The cooktop will automatically shut off after 1 minute if incompatible or no cookware is detected.

Cleaning the Surface

The black polished glass surface is easy to clean. Always disconnect the power supply before cleaning. Use a soft cloth and a mild detergent or a specialized ceramic hob cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals that can scratch the surface.
