1. Introduction

This instruction manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your Hermitlux Induction Cooktop with Flex Zones. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the appliance and keep it for future reference.

The Hermitlux Induction Cooktop (Model IM2F) features a sleek design with two cooking zones and a total power output of 3500W. It includes a flexible flex-zone function, 9 power levels, a booster function, slider control, and a timer for precise cooking. Safety features such as child locks and automatic shutdown are integrated for user protection.

2. Safety Information

Your safety and the safety of others are paramount. Please observe the following safety precautions:

  • Ensure the appliance is properly installed by a qualified technician according to local regulations.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use oven mitts or pot holders.
  • Never leave the cooktop unattended during operation.
  • Keep children away from the cooktop during use and when it is cooling down.
  • Do not store flammable materials on or near the cooktop.
  • Only use compatible magnetic cookware. Incompatible cookware may not heat or could damage the cooktop.
  • In case of a crack in the ceramic glass surface, immediately switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply to avoid electric shock.
  • The cooktop is equipped with a child lock to prevent accidental operation.
  • Residual heat indicators will illuminate to warn you if the surface is still hot after use.
  • The cooktop features automatic shutdown functions in case of overheating or if incompatible cookware is detected for more than 1 minute.

3. Setup and Installation

The Hermitlux Induction Cooktop is designed for drop-in installation into a countertop. Ensure adequate ventilation space around the appliance as per installation guidelines.

  • Dimensions: The product dimensions are approximately 52 cm (length) x 28.8 cm (width) x 5.6 cm (height).
  • Cut-out Dimensions: Refer to the installation diagram for precise countertop cut-out measurements.
  • Power Supply: The cooktop operates on 220 Volt (AC) and has a maximum power consumption of 3500 Watts. Ensure your electrical installation can support this load.
  • Included Accessories: The package includes mounting kits and sponge strips for installation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Control Panel Overview

The cooktop features a touch-sensitive control panel for easy operation.

4.2 Power Levels and Timer

  • The cooktop offers 9 power levels to suit various cooking needs, from simmering to rapid boiling.
  • The maximum power for the upper cooking zone is 2000W, and for the lower cooking zone is 1500W.
  • Use the slider control to adjust power levels precisely.
  • A 99-minute timer function allows for precise cooking times. Once the set time expires, the cooking zone will automatically switch off.
  • The Booster function provides a temporary increase in power for faster heating.

4.3 Flexible Flex-Zone Function

The flex-zone function allows for greater flexibility with cookware sizes and shapes.

  • When a rectangular pot larger than 18 x 25 cm or a round pot with a diameter of more than 25 cm is placed in the middle of the induction cooktop, the flex-zone function can precisely heat the entire area covered by the pan.
  • This feature ensures even heat distribution for larger or irregularly shaped cookware.

4.4 Stop&Go Function

The Stop&Go function allows you to pause the cooking process at any time and resume it later with the same settings. This is useful if you need to briefly step away from the cooktop.

4.5 Compatible Cookware

For optimal performance, the Hermitlux Induction Cooktop works best with magnetic cookware.

  • Compatible Materials: Cast iron, iron pans, or magnetic stainless steel cookware. Enamelled steel is also compatible.
  • Incompatible Materials: Cookware with a concave base, copper, ceramic, glass, or aluminum are generally not compatible with induction cooktops.
  • The cooktop has an automatic detection function. If incompatible cookware is placed on the cooktop, or if no cookware is detected, the cooktop will automatically switch off after 1 minute.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

The Hermitlux Induction Cooktop features a black, polished crystal glass surface that is easy to clean.

  • Always ensure the cooktop is switched off and has cooled down before cleaning.
  • Wipe the surface with a soft cloth and a mild detergent.
  • For stubborn stains, use a specialized ceramic hob cleaner.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch or damage the glass surface.
  • Ensure no water enters the internal components during cleaning.

6. Troubleshooting
