4. Using the Height Adjustment Lock

- Melting cheese on sandwiches or other dishes.
- Heating mini pizzas or open-faced items.
To use, lift the top plate to the desired height and engage the height adjustment lock mechanism (usually a lever or notch on the side). Ensure the plate is securely locked before use.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygienic operation of your grill.
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the grill from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove Drip Tray: Carefully slide out the drip tray from its slot. Empty any collected fat or liquids. The drip tray is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
- Remove Grill Plates: Locate the release buttons or levers for the grill plates (usually on the sides or front of each plate). Press them and carefully lift the plates off the grill.
- Clean Grill Plates: The non-stick grill plates are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Ensure all food residue is removed. Dry thoroughly before reattaching.
- Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the grill with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they can damage the finish. Never immerse the main unit in water.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Grill does not heat up. | Not plugged in; power outlet malfunction; temperature knob set to MIN. | Ensure the grill is properly plugged into a working outlet. Check the circuit breaker. Turn the temperature knob to a higher setting. |
| Food sticks to the plates. | Plates not properly cleaned; non-stick coating damaged; insufficient preheating. | Ensure plates are clean before use. Always preheat the grill until the ready light illuminates. Avoid using metal utensils that can damage the non-stick coating. |
| Uneven cooking. | Food not evenly distributed; grill not fully preheated; too much food. | Ensure food is spread evenly. Allow the grill to fully preheat. Avoid overcrowding the grill. The floating top plate should help with even pressure. |
| Smoke or unusual odor during first use. | Protective oils burning off. | This is normal for new appliances. Ensure good ventilation. It should dissipate after a few uses. If smoke persists, unplug and contact support. |
