1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the LEVOIT IQ 40 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. This manual provides important information on how to safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot your new vacuum cleaner. Please read it thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.

2. Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury. This includes:

4. Setup

Follow these steps to assemble and prepare your vacuum cleaner for first use:

5. Operating Instructions

Your LEVOIT IQ 40 offers intelligent cleaning modes and versatile attachments.

5.1 Powering On/Off

Press the power button on the handle to turn the vacuum on. Press it again to turn it off.

5.2 Intelligent Auto Mode

The vacuum defaults to Auto Mode upon startup. In this mode, Dynamic Power Control (DPC) Technology uses an infrared sensor to detect debris levels and automatically adjusts suction power. This optimizes cleaning efficiency and battery life.

5.3 Manual Power Control

To manually adjust suction power, press the '+' or '-' buttons on the control panel. This allows you to increase or decrease suction as needed for different cleaning tasks.

5.4 Using Attachments

The vacuum can be converted into a handheld unit for versatile cleaning. Press the vacuum body release button to detach the main body from the stick. Then, attach your chosen accessory directly to the vacuum body or to the stick for extended reach.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your vacuum cleaner.

6.1 Emptying the Dust Bin

Empty the 0.6-liter dust bin when debris reaches the MAX line. To empty, hold the vacuum body over a waste bin and press the dust bin release button. The bottom flap will open, allowing debris to fall out.

6.2 Cleaning the Filters

The LEVOIT IQ 40 features a 4-stage filtration system with dual washable HEPA filters. Proper cleaning is essential:

  • Pre-Filter: Wash once a month and replace every 6 months. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstallation.
  • Main Filter: Wash once every 6 months and replace every 1 year. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstallation.

To clean, remove the filters from the vacuum body and rinse them under running water. Allow them to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reassembling.

6.3 Cleaning the Roller Brush

Periodically check the roller brush for tangled hair or debris. To clean, remove the vacuum head from the stick. Locate the roller brush release mechanism, typically a latch or button, and remove the roller brush. Carefully cut and remove any wrapped hair or fibers. Reinsert the roller brush and secure it in place.

7. Battery Management

The LEVOIT IQ 40 is powered by a Lithium-Ion battery.

  • Runtime: Up to 40 minutes on power level 1. An additional battery can extend runtime to 80 minutes.
  • Charging: The battery charges automatically when the vacuum is placed on the charging dock. Full charge takes approximately 4-5 hours.
  • Removal/Reinstallation: To remove the battery, press the battery release button and slide it out. To reinstall, slide the battery back into the slot until it clicks into place.

8. Storage

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your LEVOIT IQ 40, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly installed. Check if the power adapter is securely plugged into both the charging dock and the wall outlet.
  • Reduced Suction: Check the dust bin and empty it if full. Inspect filters for blockages and clean them as per maintenance instructions. Ensure the roller brush is free of tangled hair or debris. Check for any blockages in the vacuum head or stick.
  • Vacuum Head Not Rotating: Ensure the roller brush is clean and free from obstructions. Check if the vacuum head is properly attached.
  • Unusual Noise: Turn off the vacuum immediately. Check for any foreign objects caught in the roller brush or airflow path.
