  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the oscilloscope's power input and then to a grounded AC power outlet.
  3. Power On: Press the power button, typically located on the front or side panel, to turn on the device. Allow the oscilloscope to complete its self-test and boot-up sequence.
  4. Probe Connection: Connect the oscilloscope probes to the desired input channels (e.g., Ch1, Ch2) on the front panel. Ensure a secure connection.
  5. Probe Compensation: Perform probe compensation as described in the operating section to ensure accurate measurements.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Controls

  • Vertical Controls: Use the dedicated knobs for each channel (Ch1, Ch2) to adjust vertical position and voltage scale (V/div).
  • Horizontal Controls: Adjust the horizontal position and time base (s/div) using the horizontal control knob.
  • Trigger Controls: Set the trigger level, source, and mode using the trigger section controls to stabilize waveforms.
  • Touchscreen Interface: The 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen allows for intuitive gesture-based control, including pinch-to-zoom and drag-to-pan.

4.2 Application Bundle (RTB-PK1)

The RTB-PK1 application bundle enhances the oscilloscope's functionality:

  • R&S®RTB-K1: I²C/SPI triggering and decoding for serial bus analysis.
  • R&S®RTB-K2: UART/RS232 triggering and decoding.
  • R&S®RTB-K3: CAN/LIN triggering and decoding (if enabled).
  • R&S®RTB-K15: History & Segmented Memory for capturing and analyzing long signal sequences.
  • R&S®RTB-K36: Frequency Response Analysis (Bode Plot) for characterizing passive components and circuits.
  • R&S®RTB-B6: Arbitrary Waveform Generator for creating custom test signals.

Access these functions via the instrument's menu system, typically through dedicated function buttons or the touchscreen interface.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Disconnect the power cord before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth with mild detergent to clean the exterior surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • For the touchscreen, use a lint-free cloth specifically designed for electronic displays.

5.2 Storage

Store the oscilloscope in a clean, dry environment within the specified operating temperature range. If storing for extended periods, use the original packaging to protect against dust and physical damage.
