Introduction

The VOXON Door/Window Alarm system provides enhanced security for your home, children, and belongings. It is suitable for various applications, including home security, child safety, and monitoring access to areas like pools, garages, sheds, and caravans.

Setup

The VOXON Door/Window Alarm is designed for simple, tool-free installation using adhesive tapes. No wiring is required.

  1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure the mounting surface (door, window frame, etc.) is clean and dry for optimal adhesive performance.
  2. Attach Adhesive: Peel the backing from the adhesive tape and firmly attach it to the back of both the main alarm unit and the magnetic sensor.
  3. Position the Units: Mount the main alarm unit and the magnetic sensor on the door/window and its frame. Ensure the arrows on both components are aligned and the gap between them does not exceed 0.78 inches (2 cm) when the door/window is closed.
  4. Test Installation: Once installed, slide the switch to 'CHIME' or 'ALARM' mode and open the door/window to verify the alarm triggers correctly.

Operating Instructions

The VOXON Door/Window Alarm offers three operating modes controlled by a simple switch:

  • OFF: The alarm is deactivated. No sound will be produced when the sensor is separated.
  • CHIME: When the magnetic sensor separates from the main unit (e.g., a door opens), a pleasant chime sound will play. This is ideal for knowing when someone enters or exits without a full alarm.
  • ALARM: When the magnetic sensor separates from the main unit, a loud 100dB siren will sound continuously until the door/window is closed. This mode is designed for security and immediate alerts.

Ensure the switch is set to the desired mode for your security needs. The alarm will trigger if the gap between the main unit and the magnetic sensor exceeds 0.78 inches (2 cm).

Maintenance

The VOXON Door/Window Alarm is powered by four LR44 batteries (included). To ensure continuous operation, replace the batteries when the alarm sound becomes weak or if the unit fails to activate. To replace batteries, carefully open the battery compartment, remove the old batteries, and insert new LR44 batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.

Troubleshooting

  • Alarm not triggering:
    • Check if the alarm is in 'OFF' mode. Slide the switch to 'CHIME' or 'ALARM'.
    • Ensure the magnetic sensor and the main unit are correctly aligned with arrows facing each other, and the gap is less than 0.78 inches (2 cm) when closed.
    • Replace the batteries if they are low or depleted.
  • Alarm is too loud for children: The alarm is designed to be loud for security purposes. If used for child safety, be mindful of the volume and consider using the 'CHIME' mode if appropriate, or ensure children are not startled by the alarm.
