1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

The keyboard requires AA batteries for wireless operation. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard.

  1. Open the battery cover.
  2. Insert the required AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery cover securely.

3.2. Power On/Off

Locate the On/Off switch on the underside of the keyboard. Slide the switch to the 'ON' position to power on the keyboard for wireless use, or 'OFF' to conserve battery when not in use.

3.3. Connection Modes

The keyboard supports three connection modes: 2.4G Wireless, Bluetooth, and Wired USB-C.

3.3.1. 2.4G Wireless Connection

  1. Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
  2. Take out the 2.4G USB Nano Receiver from its storage slot on the underside of the keyboard.
  3. Plug the Nano Receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  4. Press Fn + Q to switch the keyboard to 2.4G mode. The 'Q' key backlight will indicate the connection status. The keyboard should automatically connect.

3.3.2. Bluetooth Connection

The keyboard can connect to up to three Bluetooth devices.

  1. Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
  2. Press Fn + W (for BT1), Fn + E (for BT2), or Fn + R (for BT3) to select a Bluetooth channel. The corresponding key (W, E, or R) will flash, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your device (computer, smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  4. Select "Qisan Keyboard" or a similar name from the list of available devices.
  5. Once paired, the flashing light on the selected Bluetooth key will become solid, indicating a successful connection.
  6. To switch between paired Bluetooth devices, press Fn + W/E/R for the desired channel.

3.3.3. Wired Connection

  1. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard's USB-C port.
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode and function without batteries. This mode also charges the keyboard if it has a rechargeable battery (this model uses AA batteries, so it will not charge).

4.1. Key Layout and Functions

The Qisan 68-key keyboard is a compact 60% layout. Many standard keys are accessed via the Fn (Function) key combinations.

5.1. Cleaning the Keyboard

To maintain the keyboard's appearance and functionality, regular cleaning is recommended:

  • Disconnect the keyboard from your device and turn off the power switch.
  • Use a can of compressed air to blow away dust and debris from between the keycaps.
  • Wipe the keycaps and keyboard surface with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid excessive moisture.
  • For stubborn stains, a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on a cloth can be used.

5.2. Keycap and Switch Replacement

This keyboard features durable ABS keycaps and replaceable mechanical switches.

  1. Keycap Removal: Use the provided keycap puller to gently grip the keycap and pull straight up.
  2. Keycap Installation: Align the keycap with the switch stem and press down firmly until it clicks into place.
  3. Switch Replacement: If your keyboard supports hot-swappable switches, use a switch puller (not included, but often comes with replacement switches) to carefully remove the switch. Align the new switch's pins with the sockets and press down until it clicks. Caution: Ensure pins are straight to avoid bending.

6. Troubleshooting
