4. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to set up your gas heater for the first time.

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Unfold: If the heater is in its folded state, gently unfold it until it locks securely into its upright position. Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged.

  3. Install Gas Bottle:
    • Open the rear compartment of the heater.
    • Place a gas bottle (up to 15 kg) inside the compartment.
    • Connect the gas regulator hose to the gas bottle valve. Ensure a tight and secure connection.
    • Check for gas leaks: Apply a soapy water solution to the connection points. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Tighten connections or replace the regulator/hose if necessary. Do not use the heater if a leak is detected.
    • Close the rear compartment.
  4. Position the Heater: Place the heater in a well-ventilated room, ensuring it is at least 1 meter (3 feet) away from walls, furniture, and other combustible materials. Ensure the floor is level.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to safely operate your Cecotec gas heater.

  1. Open Gas Supply: Slowly open the valve on the gas bottle.
  2. Ignition:
    • Press and hold the control knob down.
    • While holding the knob down, turn it to the desired power setting (e.g., 1.6 kW or 4.2 kW).
    • Press the piezoelectric ignition button repeatedly until the pilot flame ignites. You may hear a clicking sound.
    • Continue to hold the control knob down for approximately 10-20 seconds after ignition to allow the thermocouple to heat up and activate the flame failure safety device.
    • Release the control knob. The main burner should now be lit. If the flame extinguishes, repeat the ignition process.

  3. Adjust Power: Rotate the control knob to switch between the 1.6 kW (low) and 4.2 kW (high) power settings as needed.
  4. Turning Off: To turn off the heater, rotate the control knob to the "OFF" position. Then, close the valve on the gas bottle.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your heater.

  • Cleaning:
    • Ensure the heater is turned off, cooled down, and the gas bottle valve is closed before cleaning.
    • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
    • Periodically check the air inlets and outlets for dust or obstructions and clean them gently if necessary.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

  • Anti-tilt system activated.
  • Gas supply interrupted.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation.
