6.2 Descaling
Descaling is necessary to remove mineral buildup and maintain machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. It is recommended every 2-3 months or when you notice reduced water flow.
- Use a commercial descaling solution suitable for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution mixed with water as per instructions.
- Place a large container under the group head and steam wand.
- Run half of the solution through the group head by pressing the espresso button.
- Run the remaining solution through the steam wand by activating steam mode and opening the steam knob.
- After descaling, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run several full tanks of fresh water through both the group head and steam wand to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
