  6. The app will search for and connect to the sensor. Once connected, you can rename the device for easy identification (e.g., "Front Door Sensor").

4.3. Physical Installation

The sensor consists of two parts: a main unit (transmitter) and a smaller magnetic strip. For proper function, these two parts must be installed close to each other on a door, window, or drawer, with a maximum triggering distance of 15mm when closed.

  1. Choose a clean, dry, and flat surface for installation.
  2. Attach the main unit to the fixed frame of the door/window.
  3. Attach the magnetic strip to the moving part of the door/window, aligning it with the main unit. Ensure the two parts are within 15mm of each other when the door/window is closed.
  4. Use the provided 3M adhesive stickers for secure mounting. Press firmly for a few seconds to ensure good adhesion.

  • App Alerts: The Smart Life/Tuya Smart app will display real-time status changes and maintain a history log of all open/closed events.
  • Notification Settings: You can customize notification settings within the app, including sound and vibration alerts.
