Setup

1. Charging the Drone Battery

1. Locate the drone's rechargeable Lithium battery.
2. Connect the USB charging cable to the battery and a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
3. The charging indicator light will show the charging status (refer to battery or charger for specific light indications).
4. Once fully charged, disconnect the battery from the charger. A full charge typically takes 60-90 minutes.

2. Installing Drone Battery

• Ensure the drone is powered off.
• Locate the battery compartment on the drone.
• Insert the fully charged battery into the compartment, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

3. Installing Controller Batteries

• Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote controller.
• Insert 4 x AAA batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
• Close the battery compartment securely.

4. Propeller Installation/Check

• The drone comes with pre-installed propellers. Ensure they are securely attached and free from damage.
• If replacing, match the propeller type (A or B) to the corresponding motor arm.

5. Folding Frame Deployment

• Gently unfold the drone's arms until they lock into their extended position. Ensure all four arms are fully extended before flight.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On and Pairing

1. Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
2. Press and hold the power button on the drone until the indicator lights begin to flash.
3. Turn on the remote controller. The controller's indicator light will also flash.
4. Push the left joystick (throttle) all the way up, then all the way down. The drone and controller lights will become solid, indicating successful pairing.

2. Auto Start, Hover, and Auto Land

• Auto Start: Press the dedicated Auto Start button (usually marked with an arrow pointing up) on the controller. The drone will automatically take off and hover at a stable altitude.
• Hover: The drone's 6-axis gyro and altitude sensors, combined with Optical Flow Technology, will maintain a stable hover.
• Auto Land: Press the dedicated Auto Land button (usually marked with an arrow pointing down) on the controller. The drone will automatically descend and land gently.

3. Flight Controls

Familiarize yourself with the remote controller's joysticks and buttons:

• Left Joystick (Throttle/Yaw):
  • Up/Down: Controls altitude (ascend/descend).
  • Left/Right: Controls yaw (rotates the drone left/right).
• Right Joystick (Pitch/Roll):
  • Up/Down: Controls pitch (move forward/backward).
  • Left/Right: Controls roll (move left/right sideways).
• Trim Buttons: Use these to fine-tune the drone's stability if it drifts in any direction during hover.

4. Camera Operation and Recording

• Mobile App Connection: Download the official Ascend Aeronautics app from your mobile device's app store. Connect your phone to the drone's Wi-Fi network (refer to app instructions for specific steps).
• Live Video Stream: Once connected, the app will display a live 1080p HD video feed from the drone's camera.
• Recording to Mobile Device: Use the app to start/stop video recording or capture photos directly to your phone.
• Micro SD Card Recording: For highest resolution video, insert a Micro SD card (up to 32GB, Class 10 recommended, not included) into the drone's designated slot. Recordings will be saved directly to the card.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone and controller. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
• Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for cracks, bends, or damage. Replace damaged propellers immediately using the provided spares.
• Battery Care:
  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place.
  • Do not store fully charged or completely depleted batteries for extended periods. Charge to about 50% for long-term storage.
  • If the drone will not be used for a long time, remove batteries from both the drone and the controller.
• Storage: When not in use, fold the drone's arms and store it in its carrying case to protect it from dust and physical damage.
