Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your VisionTechShop DSW-100 Portion Food Scale. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to prevent damage.
The DSW-100 is a high-precision digital portion control scale designed for commercial and industrial use. It features a dual LCD display, a durable stainless steel platter, and is switchable between multiple units (Lb/Oz/Kg/g). This model is NTEP Approved Legal for Trade (COC #22-007) and NSF Certified, ensuring accuracy and hygiene standards.

Setup
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed below are present and undamaged:
- DSW-100 Scale Unit
- Stainless Steel Removable Platter
- AC Power Adapter (3m/9.84ft cable length)
- User Manual
If any items are missing or damaged, please contact VisionTechShop customer support immediately.
2. Platter Installation
Place the stainless steel platter securely on top of the scale's weighing platform. Ensure it sits flat and does not wobble.

3. Powering the Scale
The DSW-100 scale can be powered using the included AC adapter or 4 D-cell alkaline batteries (not included).
- AC Adapter: Connect the AC adapter to the power input port on the scale and then plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
- Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Insert 4 D-cell alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely. The scale is designed for long battery life, up to 1000 hours without backlight.

4. Initial Power-On
Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the scale. The display will perform a self-test and then show "0.000 lb" (or the last used unit) when ready for weighing.

Operating Instructions
1. Turning On/Off
- To turn on the scale, press the ON/OFF button.
- To turn off the scale, press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display turns off.
2. Unit Switching
The DSW-100 supports multiple weighing units: pounds (Lb), ounces (Oz), kilograms (Kg), and grams (g).
- To switch between units, press the UNIT button. Each press will cycle through the available units.
3. Tare Function
The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or packaging, so only the net weight of the item is displayed.
- Place an empty container on the platter.
- Press the TARE button. The display will reset to zero.
- Add the item to be weighed into the container. The display will show the net weight of the item.
- To clear the tare, remove the container from the platter and press the TARE button again.
4. Zero Function
The Zero function allows you to reset the display to zero if there is a slight weight on the platter or if the display drifts from zero.
- With nothing on the platter, or a stable weight that you wish to ignore, press the ZERO button. The display will show "0.000 lb".
5. Backlight and Power Saving Settings
The DSW-100 features an LCD display with backlight and an auto power-off function to conserve energy. These settings can be adjusted.

To access and change these settings:
- Turn on the scale.
- Press and hold the ZERO button, then press the UNIT button three times. The display will show "SPC 00".
- Press the ZERO button to enter the setting mode. The display will show "0011".
- The four digits represent different settings (from right to left):
- Bit 0 (Rightmost digit): Automatic shutdown time setting (0: No automatic shutdown, 1: Allows automatic shutdown).
- Bit 1: Allow automatic entry into power saving mode (0: Allow, 1: Forbid).
- Bit 3 / Bit 2 (Leftmost two digits): Backlight auto-off time setting (00: 10 seconds, 01: 20 seconds, 10: 30 seconds, 11: Do not close).
- Use the UNIT button to input '0' and the TARE button to input '1' for each digit, starting from the rightmost digit.
- For example, to change the automatic shutdown setting to no automatic shutdown (Bit 0 = 0), you would press UNIT, UNIT, TARE, UNIT in order to achieve "0010".
- Continuously press the ZERO button until you return to the normal weighing mode to save the settings.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
The stainless steel platter is removable for easy cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap to clean the platter and the scale body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish or electronic components. Ensure the scale is completely dry before re-use.
2. Battery Replacement
If the scale is battery-powered and the display indicates low battery, replace the 4 D-cell alkaline batteries. Ensure the scale is turned off before opening the battery compartment and observe correct polarity when inserting new batteries.
3. General Care
- Store the scale in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Avoid dropping the scale or subjecting it to heavy impacts, as this can affect its accuracy and internal components.
- Do not overload the scale beyond its maximum capacity.
Troubleshooting
