4. Setup
- Attach Discharge Hose: Screw the desired discharge hose adapter (either the 1-1/4" NPT or the 3/4" garden hose adapter) firmly onto the pump's discharge port. Ensure a rubber washer is used with the garden hose adapter to prevent leaks.
- Connect Hose: Attach your discharge hose (5/8-inch diameter or larger garden hose, or a 1-1/4 inch discharge hose) to the adapter. Ensure the hose is free of kinks or sharp bends that could restrict water flow.
- Position the Pump: Place the pump on a solid, level base in the area to be drained. Do not place the pump directly on sand or dirt, as this can block the suction screen.
- Priming Requirement: A minimum water level of 1 inch is required to prime the pump.
5. Operating Instructions
- Submerge Pump: Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water, with at least 1 inch of water covering the suction screen for proper priming.
- Connect to Power: Plug the pump into a 115-volt GFCI protected power outlet. The pump will start operating immediately upon connection.
- Monitor Operation: The pump will continue to operate until the water level is reduced to approximately 1/4 inch.
- Stop Operation: Unplug the pump from the power supply to stop it.
- Avoid Dry Running: Do not allow the pump to run dry, as this can cause damage to the motor and void the warranty. The thermal overload protector will shut off the pump if it overheats.
