5. Setup and Calibration

5.1 Initial Power On

  1. Press the power button located on the back of the instrument to turn it on.

5.2 Calibration

  3. Attach the desired aperture plate (e.g., 6mm) by aligning it with the instrument's base and twisting gently until secure.
  4. Verify the selected aperture size on the instrument's display in the measurement setup menu.

6.1 Basic Color Difference Measurement

  1. Ensure the instrument is calibrated and the correct aperture is selected.
  2. Place the instrument's aperture firmly against the standard sample you wish to measure.
  3. Press the measurement button. The instrument will display the standard sample's color values (L*, a*, b*).
  4. Next, place the instrument's aperture firmly against the sample whose color difference you want to compare.
  5. Press the measurement button again. The display will show the color difference (dE*ab) and color deviation between the standard and the sample.

  1. Download and install the "ColorExpert" application from your device's app store or the manufacturer's website.

  3. Open the ColorExpert app and navigate to the connection screen.
  4. Locate the Serial Number (SN) on the bottom of your colorimeter's base.
  5. In the app, select the device matching your instrument's SN and tap "Connect".
  6. Once connected, you can perform measurements, view color data, and access built-in Pantone color cards directly from the app.

The ColorExpert app allows for advanced color analysis, including finding similar colors from built-in libraries and creating personal color collections.

  2. The app will display the measured color. You can then use the "Find Similar Color" function to compare it against various color libraries, such as Pantone.
  3. The app will present the closest matching color numbers from the selected library.
