Step-by-Step Installation:
- Turn Off Power: Locate your circuit breaker panel and turn off the power to the specific circuit you will be working on. Use a voltage tester to confirm that the power is off at the outlet box.
- Remove Old Device: Carefully remove the existing wall plate and unscrew the old switch or receptacle from the electrical box. Gently pull the device out of the box.
- Identify Wires: Identify the following wires:
- Hot Wire (Black): Carries power from the circuit breaker.
- Neutral Wire (White): Returns power to the circuit.
- Ground Wire (Green or Bare Copper): Provides a safety path for electricity.
- Load Wire (Black, often connected to the light fixture): Carries power from the switch to the controlled device.
- Connect Wires: Connect the wires to the new LIDER combination device using the side wiring terminals. Ensure approximately 1/2 inch of insulation is stripped from each wire. Wrap the wire clockwise around the screw terminal and tighten securely.
- Connect the Ground Wire to the green ground screw.
- Connect the Hot Wire to one of the brass (hot) screws.
- Connect the Neutral Wire to the silver (neutral) screw.
- Connect the Load Wire to the remaining brass (hot) screw.
- Mount Device: Carefully fold the wires into the electrical box and secure the device with the mounting screws provided.
- Attach Wall Plate: Install the screwless wall plate over the device.
- Restore Power: Return to your circuit breaker panel and turn the power back ON.
- Test Functionality: Test both the switch and the receptacle to ensure they are working correctly.
Operating Your Device
The LIDER combination device features a paddle rocker switch and a tamper-resistant electrical outlet. The switch controls the connected load (e.g., a light fixture), while the outlet provides constant power for other devices.
- Switch Operation: Press the top of the paddle to turn the connected load ON, and the bottom to turn it OFF.
- LED Indicator: The small LED light on the switch illuminates when the connected load is OFF, acting as a locator light in the dark. When the load is ON, the LED turns off.
- Receptacle Use: Insert standard 2- or 3-prong plugs into the tamper-resistant outlet. The TR mechanism requires equal pressure on both slots to open, preventing single-object insertion.

Maintenance
The LIDER combination device is designed for minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure its longevity and proper function:
- Cleaning: To clean the device and wall plate, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the matte finish and plastic components.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the device for any signs of damage, such as cracks, discoloration, or loose connections. If any damage is observed, turn off power at the circuit breaker and have the device inspected or replaced by a qualified electrician.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the device is not exposed to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures beyond its operating specifications.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your LIDER combination device, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Switch or outlet is not working. | No power to the circuit. Loose wiring connection. Faulty device. | Check the circuit breaker and reset if tripped. Turn off power, verify all wire connections are secure. If problem persists, consult an electrician or replace the device. |
| LED indicator is not lighting up when the load is OFF. | Incorrect wiring. LED malfunction. | Turn off power and re-check wiring connections according to the diagram. If wiring is correct, the LED may be faulty; contact customer support. |
| Plug does not insert into the receptacle. | Tamper-resistant mechanism engaged. | Ensure you are applying even pressure to both prongs of the plug simultaneously. Do not force the plug. |
| Device feels loose in the wall box. | Mounting screws are not tight. | Turn off power, then tighten the mounting screws that secure the device to the electrical box. |
