5. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the security and functionality of your electric lock. Follow these steps carefully:

5.1 Preparing the Door

• Determine the desired mounting position for the lock unit and the strike plate on your door and door frame. Ensure there is sufficient clearance for the bolt.
• The lock is designed to fit both left and right-hand doors. If necessary, rotate the lock unit 180 degrees to align with your door's opening direction.

5.2 Mounting the Lock Unit

• Mark the drilling points for the main lock unit on the door. Use the provided mounting plate as a template.
• Drill pilot holes at the marked points.
• Secure the main lock unit to the door using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached and level.
• Install the key cylinder into the designated slot on the lock unit.

5.3 Mounting the Strike Plate

• Align the strike plate with the lock unit on the door frame, ensuring the bolt can smoothly engage with the strike plate's opening.
• Mark the drilling points for the strike plate.
• Drill pilot holes and secure the strike plate to the door frame using the provided screws.

5.4 Electrical Wiring

• The lock unit has two wires for electronic access. Connect these wires to your access control system or power supply (DV 9~12V, 1.5A~3A).
• Ensure correct polarity if specified by your access control system.

6. Operating Instructions

The Splenssy Electric Gate Door Lock offers both electronic and manual unlocking methods.

6.1 Electronic Unlocking

• This lock operates in a Normally Open (NO) / Fail Secure mode. This means the lock remains locked when power is off and unlocks when power is applied.
• When integrated with an access control system (e.g., keypad, card reader, intercom), activating the system will send a signal to the lock, applying power and causing the bolt to retract, thus unlocking the door.
• The lock will automatically re-lock once power is removed or the door is closed and the spring adjusting balance unit engages.

6.2 Manual Unlocking

• In case of power failure or for manual access, use one of the provided keys to unlock the door.
• Insert the key into the key cylinder and turn it to retract the bolt.
• To lock the door manually, ensure the door is closed and the bolt is extended.

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and reliable operation of your electric lock.

• Cleaning: Periodically wipe the lock's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
