  • Insulate all connections properly to prevent short circuits.

6. Operating Instructions

The Splenssy Electric Gate Door Lock offers both electronic and manual unlocking methods.

6.1 Electronic Unlocking

  • This lock operates in a Normally Open (NO) / Fail Secure mode. This means the lock remains locked when power is off and unlocks when power is applied.
  • When integrated with an access control system (e.g., keypad, card reader, intercom), activating the system will send a signal to the lock, applying power and causing the bolt to retract, thus unlocking the door.
  • The lock will automatically re-lock once power is removed or the door is closed and the spring adjusting balance unit engages.

6.2 Manual Unlocking

  • In case of power failure or for manual access, use one of the provided keys to unlock the door.
  • Insert the key into the key cylinder and turn it to retract the bolt.
  • To lock the door manually, ensure the door is closed and the bolt is extended.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and reliable operation of your electric lock.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the lock's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Lubrication: Apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the key cylinder once a year to ensure smooth key operation. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt.
  • Check Connections: Annually inspect all electrical wiring and connections for signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness. Tighten any loose connections.
  • Bolt Alignment: Ensure the lock bolt and strike plate remain properly aligned. Misalignment can cause excessive wear and hinder operation.
  • Outdoor Use: If installed outdoors, regularly check for signs of corrosion. Applying a protective sealant or coating can help mitigate environmental damage.
