2. Setup
2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that the following items are included:
- Unitech HT330 Handheld Terminal
- 5200mAh Lithium-ion Battery (pre-installed or separate)
- USB Cable
- Hand Strap
- Quick Start Guide (if applicable)
Inspect the device for any visible damage. If any components are missing or damaged, contact Unitech support immediately.
2.2 Battery Installation and Charging
The HT330 is equipped with a removable 5200mAh Lithium-ion battery. To install or replace the battery:
- Ensure the device is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the rear of the device.
- Slide the latch to unlock and remove the cover.
- Insert the battery, aligning the contacts correctly.
- Replace the battery cover and slide the latch to lock it securely.
To charge the device, connect the supplied USB cable to the terminal's USB-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer. A full charge typically takes approximately 4-5 hours. The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.
2.3 Initial Power-On and Setup Wizard
Press and hold the Power button (located on the side of the device) for a few seconds until the Unitech logo appears. The device will boot up and guide you through the initial Android setup wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to:

- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.

- Point the scanner window (located at the top of the device) towards the barcode.
- Press the dedicated scan button (typically on the side or front, often blue) to activate the scanner. A red aiming line or illumination will appear.
- Ensure the barcode is within the aiming line for optimal reading. A successful scan will usually be indicated by a beep or vibration.

3.3 Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
The HT330 supports OCR technology through Unitech USS software, allowing conversion of numbers or characters from physical surfaces into digital formats. Refer to the Unitech USS software documentation for detailed instructions on configuring and using OCR.
3.4 Connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, GPS)
- Wi-Fi: Access Wi-Fi settings via Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi to connect to available networks (2.4G+5GHz bandwidth supported).
- Bluetooth: Enable Bluetooth via Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth to pair with compatible devices (Bluetooth 5.0).
- 4G LTE: Insert a SIM card into the designated slot to enable 4G LTE connectivity for mobile data and calls.
