1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Igloo Top Loading Water Cooler. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new water dispenser. This unit is designed to provide both refreshing cold water and steaming hot water on demand, accommodating standard 3 and 5-gallon water jugs.
Key features include an easy-to-use top-loading system, separate dispensing paddles for hot and cold water, and a child safety lock for the hot water dispenser to prevent accidental burns.
2. Important Safety Information
- Child Safety Lock: The hot water dispenser is equipped with a child safety lock. To dispense hot water, you must first slide the red safety lock and then press the dispensing paddle. This prevents accidental hot water dispensing.
- Initial Setup: Do not plug in the dispenser until water has flowed through both the hot and cold spigots. This ensures the internal tanks are filled and prevents damage to heating elements.
- Compressor Settling: After transportation, allow the unit to stand upright for at least 4 hours before plugging it in. This allows the compressor fluids to settle, ensuring optimal performance.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate space around the back and sides of the unit for proper ventilation to prevent overheating.
- Power Source: Use a grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords.
3. Setup and Installation
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the water dispenser from its packaging. Place it on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Positioning: Ensure there is at least 4 inches of clearance from the back and sides of the unit to allow for proper air circulation.
- Water Jug Placement: Remove the cap from a 3 or 5-gallon water jug. Carefully lift the jug and place it upside down onto the top-loading receptacle of the dispenser. Ensure it is seated firmly.
- Initial Water Flow: Before plugging in the unit, place a cup under both the hot and cold spigots and press the dispensing paddles until water flows out. This primes the system and prevents dry heating.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Activate Heating/Cooling: Locate the red (heating) and green (cooling) switches on the back of the unit. Flip them to the 'ON' position to activate the heating and cooling functions. Allow approximately 15-30 minutes for the water to reach desired temperatures.

4. Operating Instructions
Your Igloo water cooler provides instant access to hot and cold water. Indicator lights on the front panel will illuminate when the heating (red) and cooling (green) functions are active.
Dispensing Cold Water:
- Place your cup under the blue (cold water) spigot.
- Press the blue dispensing paddle. Water will flow until the paddle is released.
Dispensing Hot Water:
- Place your cup under the red (hot water) spigot.
- Slide the red child safety lock to the side.
- While holding the safety lock, press the red dispensing paddle. Hot water will flow until the paddle is released.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
- Removable Drip Tray: The water cooler features a removable drip tray for easy cleaning. Periodically remove the tray, empty any collected water, and wash it with mild soap and water. Ensure it is completely dry before reinserting.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Internal Cleaning: For thorough internal cleaning, refer to the detailed instructions in the full product manual.

6. Troubleshooting
- Water Not Cold/Hot: Check the power switches on the back of the unit to ensure both the cooling (green) and heating (red) functions are turned 'ON'. Allow sufficient time for the unit to reach temperature.
- No Water Dispensing: Ensure the water jug is properly seated and not empty. Check that the dispensing paddles are fully pressed.
- Leaking: Verify that the water jug is not cracked or damaged. Ensure the drain plug (if applicable, typically at the back) is securely closed. If leaking persists, discontinue use and contact customer support.
