1. Introduction

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The thermometer requires 6 AAA batteries (not included) in total: 2 for the indoor console and 4 for the floating sensor.

  1. For the Indoor Display Console:
    • Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the console.
    • Insert 2 AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
    • Close the battery compartment cover.
  2. For the Floating Pool Sensor:
    • Carefully twist and open the top part of the floating sensor to access the battery compartment.
    • Insert 4 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
    • Ensure the double silicone seals are properly seated to maintain waterproofing.
    • Securely close the top part of the sensor by twisting it back into place.

4.2 Pairing the Sensor and Console

The sensor and console should automatically pair once batteries are installed. If pairing does not occur:

  • Ensure both devices have fresh batteries.
  • Place the sensor and console close to each other.
  • On the console, press and hold the 'CH' (Channel) button for a few seconds to initiate a search for the sensor.
  • The console should display the water temperature once connected.

4.3 Placement

  • Floating Sensor: Place the sensor directly into the water of your pool, spa, or pond. Ensure it floats freely and is not obstructed.
  • Indoor Display Console: Place the console indoors within the transmission range (up to 165 feet in open air). It can be placed on a desktop using its built-in stand or mounted on a wall.

5.1 Understanding the Display

5.2 Switching Temperature Units (℉/℃)

To switch between Fahrenheit (℉) and Celsius (℃), press the ℉/℃ button on the indoor display console. The unit displayed for both indoor and outdoor temperatures will change accordingly.

5.3 Viewing Min/Max Temperature Records

Press the 'MIN/MAX' button on the console to cycle through the minimum and maximum recorded temperatures for the water. These records automatically reset every 24 hours.

5.4 Setting Alarms (If applicable)

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

When the low battery indicator appears on the display console, replace the batteries in both the console and the sensor with fresh AAA batteries. Ensure proper polarity and securely close all battery compartments to maintain waterproofing for the sensor.

  • No Temperature Reading on Console:

    • Try re-pairing the devices by holding the 'CH' button on the console.

  • Weak Signal/Intermittent Connection:
    • Reduce the distance between the sensor and the console.
    • Remove any large metal objects or electronic devices that might interfere with the wireless signal.
    • Ensure the console is not placed in an area with heavy radio frequency interference.
