5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Sensor Installation

  1. Prepare the Mounting Location: Ensure the tank has a standard SAE 5-hole mounting pattern. Clean the area around the mounting hole.
  2. Apply Gasket: Place the provided gasket onto the sensor's mounting flange to ensure a watertight seal.
  3. Insert Sensor: Carefully insert the sensor into the tank opening.
  4. Secure with Screws: Align the 5 holes and secure the sensor using the five M5*16 screws. Tighten them evenly to prevent leaks.

5.2 Wiring Diagram

Refer to the wiring diagram provided with your product for specific connections. Generally, the sensor will have two wires: one for signal output (connected to the gauge) and one for ground.

  • Connect the sensor's signal wire to the corresponding input on the fuel gauge.
  • Connect the sensor's ground wire to a reliable ground point on the vehicle.
  • Connect the fuel gauge to a 12V or 24V power supply (depending on your vehicle's electrical system) and a ground connection.

6. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and wired, the fuel gauge will display the current fuel or water level in your tank. The gauge uses a stepper motor core for high precision and long lifespan.

  • Power On: Turn on the vehicle's ignition or power supply to activate the gauge.
  • Reading the Gauge: The needle will indicate the fuel level from 'E' (Empty) to 'F' (Full).
  • Signal Standard: This system operates on a 0-190 Ohm European standard, where 0 Ohms indicates an empty tank and 190 Ohms indicates a full tank.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the gauge and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the sensor's mounting screws remain tight.
