3.2 Initial Configuration
After physical connection, wait for the router's indicator lights to stabilize. Then, proceed with the initial configuration:
- Connect to the Router's Wi-Fi: On your computer or smartphone, search for the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) printed on the label at the bottom of the router. Connect to this network using the default password (also on the label).
- Access Web Management Interface: Open a web browser and type the default IP address (e.g., http://192.168.0.1 or http://itotolink.net) into the address bar and press Enter.
- Login: Enter the default username and password (usually "admin" for both, check the router's label).
- Run Quick Setup Wizard: Follow the on-screen instructions of the Quick Setup Wizard to configure your internet connection type (e.g., PPPoE, Dynamic IP, Static IP) and set up your new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. It is highly recommended to change the default Wi-Fi name and password for security.
- Save Settings: Save your configurations and restart the router if prompted.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Wi-Fi 6 Features
The X2000R leverages Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) technology to deliver enhanced performance, efficiency, and capacity, especially in environments with many connected devices.
- Dual Band Operation: The router operates on both 2.4 GHz (up to 300 Mbps) and 5 GHz (up to 1201 Mbps) frequency bands, providing flexibility for different device needs and reducing network congestion.
- MU-MIMO: Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output technology allows the router to communicate with multiple devices simultaneously, improving overall network efficiency and speed for all connected clients.
- Band Steering: This feature intelligently directs devices to the less congested or faster Wi-Fi band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) based on their capabilities and network conditions, optimizing performance without manual intervention.
- Beamforming: Beamforming technology focuses the Wi-Fi signal directly towards connected devices, rather than broadcasting in all directions. This results in stronger, more reliable connections and extended Wi-Fi coverage.

5. Maintenance
- Regular Restart: Periodically restarting your router (e.g., once a month) can help clear its memory and improve performance. Simply unplug the power adapter, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.
- Firmware Updates: Check the official TOTOLINK website for the latest firmware updates. Keeping your router's firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance, security, and access to new features. Follow the instructions provided on the website for firmware upgrade procedures.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the router's exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols. Ensure ventilation holes are not blocked.
- Factory Reset: If you encounter persistent issues or forget your login credentials, you can perform a factory reset. Locate the WPS/RST button on the back of the router. With the router powered on, press and hold this button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the indicator lights flash. The router will then revert to its factory default settings. Warning: A factory reset will erase all your custom settings, including Wi-Fi name and password.
