Setup
1. Installing the Batteries
Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset. Insert the two supplied AAA rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Connecting the Base Station
Place the base station on a flat, non-slip surface. Connect the power adapter to the base station and plug it into a wall outlet. Connect the phone cord to the base station and then to your telephone wall socket.

3. Initial Charging
Place the handset in the base station. The handset will begin charging. For optimal battery performance, allow the handset to charge continuously for at least 6-8 hours before its first use, even if the display indicates a full charge earlier.
Operating Instructions
Making and Receiving Calls
- To Make a Call: Press the green call button (C), then dial the number. Alternatively, dial the number first and then press the green call button.
- To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, press the green call button (C).
- To End a Call: Press the red end call button (O).
Answering Machine
The Gigaset A605A features an integrated answering machine with up to 20 minutes of recording time.
- Activating/Deactivating: Refer to the handset menu for answering machine settings.
- Playing Messages: Press the play button on the base station or access through the handset menu.
- Recording Personal Greeting: Follow the instructions in the handset menu to record your custom greeting.
Phonebook
Store up to 100 contacts in the phonebook. Each entry can include a name and number.
- Adding a Contact: Navigate to the phonebook menu, select "New Entry," and enter the name and number.
- Calling from Phonebook: Open the phonebook, scroll to the desired contact, and press the green call button.
Hands-free Function
During a call, press the hands-free button (speaker icon) on the handset to activate speakerphone mode. Press it again to switch back to normal handset mode.
Caller ID
If subscribed to Caller ID service, the caller's number will be displayed on the handset screen before you answer.

Alarm, Date, and Time
Set the date and time via the handset menu. An alarm function is also available for reminders.
Keypad Lock
To prevent accidental dialing, you can activate the keypad lock through the handset menu or by pressing and holding the '#' key.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the handset and base station with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: Use only approved rechargeable batteries. If the phone will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries.
