Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid and pour fresh, cold water into the water reservoir. Use the water level indicator on the side to fill to your desired number of cups (up to 10 cups).
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable coffee filter into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee. For optimal flavor, use approximately one tablespoon of coffee per cup. Close the top lid securely.
  3. Place Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe with its lid is correctly positioned on the keep-warm plate.
  4. Select Aroma Intensity: Press the 'Strength' button to choose between 'Delicate' (default) or 'Intense' aroma settings.
  5. Start Brewing: Press the 'On/Off' button to begin the brewing cycle. The machine will beep to confirm.
  6. Serving: Once brewing is complete, the machine will beep again. The coffee will be kept warm on the hot plate for up to 60 minutes. Carefully remove the carafe to pour.

1-4 Cup Brewing Function

For smaller quantities of coffee (1-4 cups), press the '1-4 Cup' button before starting the brew cycle. This optimizes the brewing process for smaller volumes, ensuring full flavor.

Auto-Start Mode (Programmable Brewing)

  1. Prepare the coffee machine as described in 'Brewing Coffee' (water, coffee grounds, carafe in place).
  2. Press the 'Program' button. The display will show 'Program Time'.
  3. Use the 'Hour' and 'Minute' buttons to set your desired start time for brewing.
  4. Press the 'Program' button again to confirm. The 'Auto-Start' indicator will light up.
  5. The machine will automatically start brewing at the set time.

Silent Mode

The machine offers a silent mode to turn off audible alerts. Refer to the full product manual for specific instructions on activating this feature.

Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

  • Carafe and Filter: After each use, discard used coffee grounds and rinse the reusable filter and carafe. They can be hand-washed with mild detergent or placed in the dishwasher (top rack recommended for carafe).
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Descaling

Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee machine regularly (e.g., every 2-3 months, or more often with hard water) using a commercial descaling solution or a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio). Follow the descaling solution's instructions or run several brew cycles with the vinegar solution, followed by several cycles with fresh water to rinse.

Troubleshooting

  • Coffee Not Brewing: Ensure the machine is plugged in, the 'On/Off' button is pressed, and the water reservoir has sufficient water. Check if the carafe is correctly placed on the hot plate.
  • Weak Coffee: Increase the amount of coffee grounds, select the 'Intense' aroma setting, or ensure the water reservoir is filled to the correct level for the desired number of cups.
  • Overflowing Filter Basket: Do not overfill the filter basket with coffee grounds. Ensure the carafe is properly seated and the anti-drip system is not obstructed.
  • Coffee Not Hot Enough: Ensure the machine has completed its brewing cycle and is on the keep-warm plate. The keep-warm function lasts for 60 minutes.
