3. Unpacking and Installation

3.1 Unpacking

The PelPro PP150 pellet stove is shipped assembled and securely bolted to a pallet for convenience and safety. Carefully unbolt the unit from the pallet and remove all packaging materials.

3.2 Installation Requirements

This appliance is designed for Do-It-Yourself (DIY) installation. It is mobile home approved and includes a fresh air kit. However, it is crucial to consult with your local building inspector to ensure compliance with all local codes and regulations before beginning installation.

The stove requires proper venting through an outside wall. The included outside air kit components (2" Flex Hose, Termination Cap, Hose Clamp, Screws) are essential for safe and efficient operation.

3.3 Rear Components

  • Exhaust Vent: 3" diameter venting.
  • Fresh Air Intake: Recommended for all applications. It is required for mobile home use. (Kit included)
  • Power Plug: Protect your stove by plugging into a surge protector.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Hopper

The PP150 features a 150-lb hopper capacity, the largest in its class, capable of holding up to 4 days worth of fuel. The optional PPHE200 Hopper Extension (sold separately) can increase the total hopper capacity to 350 lbs.

4.2 Initial Burn-in

During the first few hours of operation, the stove will emit fumes from the manufacturing process. Ensure adequate ventilation by opening windows or doors. This is a normal process and will subside.

4.3 Heat Control Dial

The stove features an easy-to-use dial control with 10 variable heat settings and a built-in thermostat. Simply turn the dial to any setting from 1 to 10, and the stove will automatically adjust to maintain optimal comfort. The stove can also be set to LO or HI for continuous operation.

4.4 How it Works

The PelPro PP150 operates through a series of automated steps to provide heat:

  1. Pellets are loaded into the hopper.
  2. The electric auger feeds the pellets into the burn grate.
  3. The burn grate burns fuel.
  4. The auto-igniter starts the fuel on fire.
  5. The fire heats the exchange tubes.
  6. The convection fan blows warm air into your room.
