Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your VTech VG101-21 Two Handset Cordless Phone system. The VTech VG101-21 is designed to offer reliable communication with features such as DECT 6.0 technology for clear sound, a backlit display and keypad for visibility, and a full-duplex speakerphone for enhanced conversations. Initial Setup
1. Base Unit Connection
- Connect the small end of the power adapter to the POWER jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the large end of the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
- Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a telephone wall jack.
2. Handset Battery Installation and Charging
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of each handset.
- Connect the battery pack connector securely into the jack inside the compartment.
- Place the battery pack with the label facing up and tuck the wires neatly inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
- Place each handset on the base unit or charger with the display facing up. The CHARGE light on the handset will illuminate, indicating proper charging.
- Allow the handsets to charge for at least 10 hours before initial use.

Basic Operation
Making and Receiving Calls
- To Make a Call: Press the TALK button, then dial the desired phone number.
- To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, press the TALK or SPEAKER button.
- To End a Call: Press the OFF button or place the handset back on the base/charger.
Using the Speakerphone
During a call, press the SPEAKER button to activate the full-duplex speakerphone. This allows for hands-free conversation, with both parties able to speak and be heard simultaneously.

Adjusting Volume
During a call, press VOL▼ to decrease the listening volume or VOL▲ to increase it.

Mute Function
To temporarily silence your microphone during a call, press the MUTE button. Press it again to resume the conversation.

The handset display shows the name, number, time, and date of incoming calls, provided you subscribe to Caller ID service from your telephone service provider.

Phonebook
The phonebook can store up to 30 names and numbers for quick dialing. Access the phonebook using the MENU/SELECT button and navigate through your contacts.

Handset Paging
If you misplace a handset, press the FIND HANDSET button on the base unit. All registered handsets will ring, helping you locate them.
