1.1 General Safety Precautions

  • Operate the aircraft in open, clear areas, away from people, buildings, trees, power lines, and water.
  • Maintain a safe distance from the aircraft during flight.
  • This product is recommended for users aged 14 years and up. Adult supervision is advised for younger users.
  • Do not fly in strong winds or adverse weather conditions.
  • Always turn off the aircraft and remote control when not in use.

1.2 Battery Safety

  • Use only the provided 3.7V Lithium battery and charger.
  • Do not overcharge or over-discharge the battery.
  • Never leave charging batteries unattended.
  • Keep batteries away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  • If the battery becomes swollen or damaged, discontinue use immediately and dispose of it properly.

2. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present in the package:

  • GoolRC B-17 RC Plane fuselage
  • Remote Control transmitter
  • 3.7V Lithium Battery
  • USB Charging Cable
  • Spare Propellers (A and B types)

3. Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your GoolRC B-17 RC Plane:

  1. Attach the Vertical Tail Fin: Carefully slide the vertical tail fin into its designated slot on the rear fuselage. Ensure it is securely seated. You may use the provided adhesive for a more permanent bond.
  2. Install the Landing Gear: Insert the front and rear wheel assemblies into their respective mounting points on the underside of the fuselage. Ensure they click into place or are firmly attached.
  3. Install Propellers: The aircraft comes with propellers already installed on the motors. If replacement is needed, ensure you match 'A' propellers to 'A' motors and 'B' propellers to 'B' motors for correct rotation.

4. Charging the Battery

The GoolRC B-17 RC Plane uses a 3.7V Lithium battery. Follow these steps to charge it:

  1. Connect the provided USB charging cable to a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).
  2. Connect the battery to the charging cable.
  3. The indicator light on the USB cable will show the charging status (refer to charger instructions for specific light behavior).
  4. Once charging is complete, disconnect the battery from the charger.

Note: A full charge typically takes approximately 60-90 minutes and provides up to 15 minutes of flight time.

5. Remote Control Setup

The remote control requires 3 'AA' batteries (not included).

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Insert 3 'AA' batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment.
  4. Pairing: Turn on the aircraft first, then turn on the remote control. The remote control will automatically pair with the aircraft. A successful connection is usually indicated by a solid light on the remote or aircraft.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Pre-Flight Check

  • Ensure the aircraft battery is fully charged and securely installed.
  • Verify that the remote control has fresh batteries and is paired with the aircraft.
  • Check all propellers for damage and ensure they are correctly installed (A/B sides).
  • Inspect the flying area for any obstacles or hazards.

6.2 Take-Off

The GoolRC B-17 can be launched from the ground or by hand.

  • Ground Take-off: Place the aircraft on a smooth, flat surface facing into the wind. Gradually increase throttle to full. The aircraft will accelerate and take off.
  • Hand Launch: Hold the aircraft firmly with one hand, facing into the wind. With the other hand, apply full throttle. Gently toss the aircraft forward and slightly upwards.

6.3 Flight Controls

The 2-channel remote control offers simplified flight operation:

  • Throttle Control: The left stick (or designated throttle lever) controls the motor speed, which dictates altitude and forward speed.
  • Turn Left/Right: The right stick (or designated directional control) allows the aircraft to turn left or right.

The aircraft features an intelligent balance system for enhanced stability and easier control, making it suitable for beginners.

6.4 Landing

To land the aircraft, gradually reduce the throttle while maintaining directional control. Aim for a gentle descent onto a clear, open area. Reduce throttle completely upon touchdown.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your GoolRC B-17 RC Plane.

  • Cleaning: After each flight, gently wipe down the aircraft with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt or debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Propeller Inspection and Replacement: Regularly check propellers for cracks, bends, or other damage. Damaged propellers can affect flight performance and stability. When replacing, ensure you use the correct 'A' and 'B' type propellers for their respective motors. Incorrect placement will prevent proper flight.
  • Storage: Store the aircraft in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from both the aircraft and remote control during long periods of storage.

8. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Aircraft does not respond to remote control.Unpaired, low remote battery, aircraft battery off.Ensure both aircraft and remote are powered on. Check remote control batteries. Re-pair the remote and aircraft.
Aircraft does not take off or flies poorly.Low aircraft battery, damaged propellers, incorrect propeller installation, strong wind.Charge aircraft battery fully. Inspect and replace damaged propellers. Verify 'A' and 'B' propellers are on correct motors. Fly in calm conditions.
Aircraft has difficulty turning.Control surface damage, motor imbalance, user input.Check for any physical damage to the wings or tail. Ensure all motors are functioning correctly. Practice gentle control inputs.
Propellers break easily.Impacts during flight or landing.Fly in open areas to avoid collisions. Practice smooth landings. Keep spare propellers on hand.
