4. Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the toaster and all packaging materials.
- Placement: Place the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials like curtains. Ensure there is adequate space around the toaster for ventilation.
- First Use: Before toasting bread for the first time, operate the toaster without bread on the highest browning setting (7) for a few minutes. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate odors. A slight smoke or odor is normal during this process.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
5. Operating Instructions
- Insert Bread: Place one or two slices of bread into the toasting slots. The wide slots accommodate various bread types.
- Select Browning Level: Turn the browning control dial to your desired setting, from 1 (lightest) to 7 (darkest). Start with a medium setting (e.g., 3 or 4) and adjust according to your preference.
- Start Toasting: Press the carriage lever down until it locks into place. The indicator light for the selected function (if any) will illuminate. The toasting cycle will begin.
- Completion: Once the selected browning level is reached, the toast will automatically pop up, and the toaster will switch off.
- Remove Toast: Carefully remove the toasted bread. Be cautious as the bread and surrounding metal surfaces will be hot.
6. Functions
Your Ufesa PinUp Classique Toaster includes three special functions:
- Cancel (Stop) Button: Press this button at any time to stop the toasting cycle and eject the toast.
- Reheat Button: Use this function to warm up already toasted bread without further browning. Insert the toast, press the carriage lever down, then press the Reheat button.
- Defrost Button: This function is for toasting frozen bread. Insert the frozen bread, press the carriage lever down, then press the Defrost button. The toaster will automatically adjust the toasting time to account for the frozen state.
