5. Operating Instructions

Proper operation ensures efficiency and safety. Always wear appropriate safety gear as outlined in Section 2.

5.1. Fueling and Oil

  • Fuel: This is a 4-cycle engine, so it requires straight unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane). Do not mix oil with the gasoline.
  • Engine Oil: Fill the engine oil reservoir with 4-cycle engine oil (80ml capacity). Regularly check the oil level before each use and refill as needed.

5.2. Starting the Engine

  1. Prime the Unit: Press the primer bulb several times until the primer hose is filled with fuel.
  2. Set Choke: Move the choke lever to the 'Choke' position.
  3. Start Key: Place the start key in the 'Start' position.
  4. Pull Starter Cord: Pull the starter rope rapidly 1-4 times, or until the engine briefly 'pops' or attempts to start.
  5. Return Choke: Once the engine pops, return the choke lever to the 'Open' position.
  6. Final Start: Pull the starter cord again until the engine starts. Allow it to warm up for a few moments before engaging the throttle.

5.3. Using the Brush Cutter/Trimmer

  • Grip: Hold the handle firmly with both hands. The U-style handle provides excellent stability.
  • Cutting Motion: Use a sweeping motion to cut grass or brush. For string trimming, use the tip of the line. For brush cutting, allow the blade to do the work, avoiding forcing it through thick material.
  • Terrain: The tool is suitable for heavy-duty tasks, trimming thick brush, and maintaining large and small areas.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your brush cutter.

  • Cleanliness: After each use, clean the tool, especially the cutting head and engine cooling fins, to prevent debris buildup.
  • Oil Level: Check the engine oil level before each operation. Change the oil periodically as recommended in the full manual.
  • Air Filter: Inspect and clean the air filter regularly. A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance.
  • Spark Plug: Check the spark plug for wear and proper gap. Replace if necessary.
  • Cutting Attachments: Inspect trimmer line for wear and replace as needed. Sharpen or replace brush blades when they become dull or damaged.
  • Fasteners: Periodically check all nuts, bolts, and screws for tightness and tighten if loose.
