Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Prepare the Shower Arm: Turn off the main water supply. Remove your existing shower head from the wall-mounted shower arm. Clean any old sealant or tape from the threads of the shower arm.
  2. Apply Plumber's Tape: Wrap plumber's tape (PTFE tape) clockwise around the threads of your existing shower arm 3-5 times to ensure a watertight seal.
  3. Attach Extension Arm: Ensure the washer is preset inside the free-spinning nut of the extension arm. Connect the extension arm to your existing shower arm. Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench with a cloth to prevent scratches, tightening clockwise until secure.

8. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your shower head.

  • Cleaning Spray Nozzles: The shower heads feature rub-clean jets. Periodically rub the rubber nozzles with your finger or a soft brush to dislodge mineral buildup and maintain consistent spray.
  • General Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the shower heads and extension arm with a soft cloth and mild soap or a non-abrasive bathroom cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers, as these can damage the finish.
  • Hard Water Areas: In areas with hard water, more frequent cleaning may be necessary. For stubborn mineral deposits, a solution of white vinegar and water can be used. Soak the shower heads (if removable) or apply the solution to the affected areas, let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub and rinse thoroughly.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
