Setup

Setting the Time

  1. Gently pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch case) out to the second position.
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
  3. Once the time is set, push the crown back into its original position to start the watch.

Setting the Date

  1. Gently pull the crown out to the first position.
  2. Rotate the crown (usually counter-clockwise) to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
  3. Once the date is set, push the crown back into its original position.

Wearing the Watch and Bracelet

  • Watch: Adjust the leather strap to fit your wrist comfortably and secure it using the pin buckle.
  • Bracelet: Wrap the braided leather bracelet around your wrist and connect the two ends using the magnetic clasp. Ensure the clasp is securely fastened.

Operating Instructions

Your Jacques Lemans watch is powered by a precise quartz movement, ensuring accurate timekeeping. The date function will automatically advance once every 24 hours. If the watch stops, it may indicate that the battery needs replacement.

The watch is water resistant up to 100 meters (10 ATM). This means it is suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for high-impact water sports or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Watch Case and Glass: Wipe with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Leather Strap: Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals. Clean with a specialized leather cleaner or a slightly damp cloth and allow to air dry completely.
  • Bracelet: Wipe the leather with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the magnetic clasp with a dry cloth.

Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a standard watch battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (if applicable), it is an indication that the battery needs to be replaced. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watchmaker to ensure the water resistance seal is properly maintained.

Water Resistance

To maintain the water resistance of your watch, ensure the crown is always fully pushed in. Avoid operating the crown or pushers (if any) while the watch is wet or submerged in water. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and may need to be re-sealed periodically, especially after battery changes or impacts.

Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. Keep it in its original box or a watch case to protect it from dust and scratches.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
  • Date not changing: Ensure the time is set correctly past midnight. If the date is stuck, try manually advancing it using the crown in the first position.
  • Condensation under the glass: This indicates a loss of water resistance. Immediately contact a qualified watchmaker for inspection and repair to prevent further damage.
