1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the NORTHCLAN Ice Cube Maker Model 005C. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your new appliance. Please read it thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.

2. Safety Instructions

To prevent injury or damage, always follow these basic safety precautions:

  • Ensure the power supply matches the rating label on the appliance.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Unplug from the outlet when not in use, before cleaning, or if a malfunction occurs.
  • Keep the appliance away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  • Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the appliance for any damage.
  2. Placement: Place the ice maker on a stable, level surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit (at least 15 cm clearance on all sides).
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the interior of the ice maker.
    • Open the drain plug and drain any residual water.
    • Clean the water tank and ice basket with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
    • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
  4. Resting Period: After transport, allow the appliance to stand upright for at least 24 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
  5. Add Water: Open the lid and manually pour clean drinking water into the water tank up to the MAX fill line. Do not overfill.

  6. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press the ON/OFF button on the control panel to start the ice making process. The indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Select Ice Size: Press the ELECT button to choose your desired ice cube size (Small, Medium, Large). The selected size will be indicated on the LCD display.
  3. Ice Production: The machine will begin producing ice. The first batch typically takes about 6-10 minutes, depending on the selected size and ambient temperature.
  4. Ice Full Indicator: When the ice basket is full, the "Ice Full" indicator will light up, and the machine will automatically stop making ice. Remove ice to resume production.
  5. Add Water Indicator: If the water level in the tank is too low, the "Add Water" indicator will light up. Add more water and press the ON/OFF button to restart.
  6. Timer Function: You can set a timer for the machine to start or stop automatically.
    • Press the SET button.
    • Use the Δ (Delta) button to adjust the desired time in hours.
    • Press SET again to confirm. The timer icon will appear on the display.

  7. Power Off: Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the machine.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your ice maker.

  1. Daily Cleaning:
    • Unplug the appliance.
    • Remove the ice basket.
    • Open the drain plug at the bottom to empty the water tank.
    • Wipe the interior with a soft cloth.
    • Close the drain plug.
  2. Self-Cleaning Function: The NORTHCLAN 005C features a self-cleaning mode.
    • Ensure the water tank is filled with clean water.
    • Refer to the control panel instructions for activating the self-clean cycle (usually by pressing and holding a specific button or combination).
    • After the cycle, drain the water and wipe dry.

  3. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  4. Storage: If storing for an extended period, ensure the unit is completely dry. Drain all water, clean thoroughly, and store in a cool, dry place.
