Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your VTech VG101-11 Cordless Phone. Please read this manual thoroughly to ensure proper use and to take full advantage of its features. The VTech VG101-11 is a DECT 6.0 digital cordless telephone equipped with a full-duplex speakerphone and Caller ID/Call Waiting functionality.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
- Slide the cover down and lift it off.
- Connect the battery pack connector securely into the jack inside the compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
- Place the battery pack into the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it up until it clicks into place.
2. Base Unit Connection
- Plug the small end of the AC power adapter into the power jack on the back of the telephone base.
- Plug the large end of the AC power adapter into a standard electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
- Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the telephone base.
- Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a telephone wall jack.
3. Initial Charging
Place the handset on the telephone base. The handset will begin charging. Allow the handset to charge for at least 16 hours before initial use to ensure optimal battery performance.

Operating Instructions
Making and Answering Calls
- To Make a Call: Press TALK, then dial the phone number.
- To Answer a Call: When the phone rings, press TALK.
- To End a Call: Press OFF or place the handset back on the telephone base.
Full-Duplex Speakerphone
The handset features a full-duplex speakerphone, allowing both parties to speak and be heard simultaneously for more natural conversations.
- To Activate Speakerphone: During a call, press the Speakerphone button (often integrated with the TALK button or a dedicated icon).
- To Deactivate Speakerphone: Press the Speakerphone button again to return to handset mode.

Volume Control
Adjust the listening volume during a call using the VOL ▼ and VOL ▲ buttons on the handset.

Caller ID/Call Waiting
The phone displays the name, number, time, and date of incoming calls. It stores up to 30 Caller ID entries.
- To Review Caller ID History: Press CID (or the down arrow) to scroll through the list of received calls.
- To Dial from Caller ID: Select the desired entry and press TALK.

Phonebook
Store up to 30 names and numbers in the phonebook for quick dialing.
- To Add an Entry: Press MENU/SELECT, navigate to 'Phonebook', then 'Add New Entry'. Follow the on-screen prompts.
- To Dial from Phonebook: Press MENU/SELECT, navigate to 'Phonebook', then scroll to the desired entry and press TALK.

Redial
The phone stores the last 5 numbers dialed for quick redialing.
- To Redial: Press REDIAL, then press TALK to dial the last number. Press REDIAL repeatedly to scroll through the last 5 numbers.

Mute
Temporarily silence the microphone during a call.
- To Mute: During a call, press MUTE. The other party will not hear you.
- To Unmute: Press MUTE again.

Flash Function
Use the FLASH button for call waiting or to transfer calls if your telephone service supports it.

Handset Paging
If you misplace your handset, you can page it from the base unit.
- To Page Handset: Press the FIND HANDSET button on the telephone base. The handset will ring.
