4. Setup and Installation

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the analyzer and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the analyzer on a stable, level surface, away from direct sunlight, strong vibrations, and drafts. Ensure adequate space around the unit for ventilation.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cable to the power interface on the rear of the analyzer and then to a grounded 110V AC power outlet.
  4. Initial Power On: Flip the power switch on the rear of the unit to the 'ON' position. The touch screen will illuminate, and the system will initiate.

5. Calibration

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. User Interface Overview

The 5-inch LCD color touch screen provides access to all functions. Key areas include:

  • Sample Library: Store and recall up to 100 research methods.
  • Setup: Configure system settings, date, time, and communication.
  • Statistics: View measurement data and audit trails (up to 2000 records).
  • Real-time Temperature: Displays the current temperature of the heating chamber.
  • Drying Program: Select drying mode (Standard, Fast, Soft).
  • Shutdown Criteria: Set ending mode (Automatic, Manual, Timing).
  • Result Display: Toggle between moisture content %, solid content %, wet-weight, dry-weight, and moisture regain %.

6.2. Preparing a Sample

  1. Ensure the sample pan is clean and dry.
  2. Carefully place the empty sample pan onto the pan holder inside the heating chamber.
  3. Close the lid and press the "Zero" button on the touch screen to tare the pan weight.
  4. Open the lid and evenly spread your sample onto the pan. For best results, use a sample size of at least 2g.
  5. Close the lid. The analyzer will display the wet weight of the sample.

6.3. Starting a Measurement

  1. From the main screen, select or create a new drying method.
  2. Select Drying Mode: Choose from:
    • Standard: Gradual heating to set temperature.
    • Fast: Rapid heating to set temperature.
    • Soft: Slower, gentler heating, suitable for sensitive samples.
  3. Set Drying Temperature: Adjust the temperature between 40-180°C.
  4. Set Shutdown Criteria: Choose from:
    • Automatic: Measurement stops when the weight loss per unit time falls below a preset value (e.g., 0.02% over 30 seconds).
    • Manual: Measurement continues until manually stopped by the user.
    • Timing: Measurement stops after a set duration (2-100 minutes).
  5. Press the "Start" button to begin the drying process. The screen will display real-time data, including current weight, temperature, and elapsed time.
  6. Do not open the lid during the measurement process.

6.4. Viewing and Managing Results

Once the measurement is complete, the final results will be displayed. You can toggle between different result displays (moisture content %, solid content %, wet-weight, dry-weight, moisture regain %) using the "Switch" button.

  • Save: Press the "Save" button to store the measurement data in the analyzer's memory.
  • Print: Connect a compatible printer via USB or RS232 and press "Print" to output the results.
  • Export Data: Connect a USB flash drive to the USB-A port to export stored data.
