2. Safety Information

  • Backup Keys: Always store the backup keys in a secure location away from the safe. Never store them inside the safe.
  • Battery Installation: Ensure correct battery polarity when installing. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
  • Mounting: For optimal security, the safe should be securely mounted to the floor. Follow the mounting instructions carefully.
  • Fire Resistance: This safe complies with UL 72 Standard for fire resistance, protecting contents for 30 minutes at 1200 ℉. However, it is not water resistant. Protect sensitive documents from water damage by placing them in sealed, water-resistant containers inside the safe.
  • Children: Do not allow children to play with or around the safe. Keep keys and access codes out of reach of children.
  • Humidity: Fireproof safes can accumulate humidity. Consider placing desiccant silica gel packets inside the safe to protect sensitive items from moisture.

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Opening

  1. Locate the emergency backup keys.
  2. Insert a backup key into the hidden emergency keyhole, usually located behind the RPNB logo or a removable cover on the keypad.
  3. Turn the key clockwise while simultaneously turning the 3-spoke handle clockwise to open the safe door.

5.2 Battery Installation

The safe requires 4 AA batteries (not included) for the electronic lock system. The external battery compartment is designed for convenience.

  1. Locate the external battery compartment on the front panel of the safe.
  2. Slide open the battery cover.
  3. Insert 4 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery cover. The safe should emit a beep, indicating power.

5.3 Handle Installation

The 3-spoke handle is typically packed separately inside the safe to prevent damage during transit.

  1. Once the safe is open, locate the handle spokes.
  2. Align each spoke with its corresponding slot on the handle mechanism on the safe door.
  3. Push and twist each spoke firmly until it is securely in place.

5.4 Programming a Master Passcode

The safe supports a 4-digit master passcode.

  1. With the safe door open, press the 'SET' button (usually located on the inside of the door or behind the battery cover).
  2. Enter your desired 4-digit passcode on the touchscreen keypad.
  3. Press the '#' button to confirm. The safe will beep to confirm successful programming.
  4. Test the new passcode with the door open before closing it.

5.5 Programming Fingerprints

The safe can store up to 20 unique fingerprints.

  1. With the safe door open, press the 'SET' button.
  2. Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor. The safe will beep.
  3. Lift your finger and place it again on the sensor. Repeat this process 3-5 times from different angles until the safe confirms successful registration (e.g., a long beep or green light).
  4. Repeat for additional fingerprints.
  5. Test each registered fingerprint with the door open before closing it.

5.6 Mounting the Safe

For enhanced security, it is recommended to mount the safe to a solid surface.

  1. Choose a suitable location, preferably on a concrete floor or a sturdy wooden beam.
  2. Open the safe door and locate the pre-drilled mounting holes on the bottom of the safe.
  3. Position the safe and mark the drilling points on the floor through the holes.
  4. Move the safe and drill pilot holes at the marked locations using an appropriate drill bit.
  5. Reposition the safe over the drilled holes.
  6. Insert the provided mounting bolts through the safe's holes and into the floor.
  7. Tighten the bolts securely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Opening with Fingerprint

  1. Place a registered finger on the fingerprint sensor.
  2. If recognized, the safe will beep, and the indicator light will turn green.
  3. Within 5 seconds, turn the 3-spoke handle clockwise to open the door.

6.2 Opening with Passcode

  1. Touch the touchscreen keypad to activate it.
  2. Enter your 4-digit master passcode.
  3. Press the '#' button to confirm.
  4. If correct, the safe will beep, and the indicator light will turn green.
  5. Within 5 seconds, turn the 3-spoke handle clockwise to open the door.

6.3 Opening with Backup Key

  1. Locate the hidden emergency keyhole.
  2. Insert a backup key and turn it clockwise.
  3. Simultaneously turn the 3-spoke handle clockwise to open the door.

6.4 Closing and Locking the Safe

  1. Close the safe door firmly.
  2. Turn the 3-spoke handle counter-clockwise until the door is securely latched. The safe will automatically lock.

6.5 Emergency Alert System

The safe features a vibration alarm. If the safe is violently shaken, an alarm will sound for approximately 60 seconds. During this time, the keypad and fingerprint sensor will be temporarily disabled.

  • To activate/deactivate the vibration alarm, refer to the specific instructions in the full manual or contact customer support.
  • The alarm can typically be disarmed by opening the safe with a valid entry method (key, fingerprint, or passcode).

6.6 Silent Mode

To enable or disable silent mode (muting operational beeps):

6.7 Adjusting Shelves

The safe includes two adjustable shelves.

  1. Open the safe door.
  2. Carefully lift and remove the desired shelf from its current position.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Battery Replacement

7.3 Humidity Control

Due to the sealed nature of fireproof safes, humidity can build up inside. To protect sensitive documents, electronics, and other items from moisture, it is recommended to:

  • Place desiccant silica gel packets inside the safe. Replace them periodically as they absorb moisture.
  • Avoid storing items that contain moisture or could release it.
