1. Important Safety Instructions

Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

General Power Tool Safety Warnings

• Work Area Safety: Keep work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
• Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate safety footwear. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts.
• Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
• Battery Tool Use and Care: Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs.

Chainsaw Specific Safety Warnings

• Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain when the chainsaw is operating. Before you start the chainsaw, make sure the saw chain is not contacting anything. A moment of inattention while operating a chainsaw may cause entanglement of your clothing or body with the saw chain.
• Always hold the chainsaw with both hands when the motor is running. Use a firm grip with both hands on the handles to control the chainsaw.
• Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Further protective equipment for head, hands, legs, and feet is recommended. Appropriate protective clothing will reduce personal injury from flying debris or accidental contact with the saw chain.
• Do not operate a chainsaw in a tree. Operation of a chainsaw while up in a tree may result in personal injury.
• Always keep proper footing and operate the chainsaw only when standing on a fixed, secure, and level surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as ladders may cause a loss of balance or control of the chainsaw.
• When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert for spring back. When the wood fiber tension is released, the spring-loaded limb may strike the operator and/or throw the chainsaw out of control.
• Carry the chainsaw by the front handle with the chainsaw stopped and away from your body. When transporting or storing the chainsaw, always fit the guide bar cover. Proper handling of the chainsaw will reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with the moving saw chain.
• Lubricate the chain regularly. Lack of lubrication can cause the chain to overheat and wear prematurely.
• To extend the lifespan of the motor, if the machine gets hot, please wait until it has completely cooled down before continuing to use the chainsaw.

3. Product Overview

The Saker Mini Chainsaw is a portable, battery-powered electric chainsaw designed for light pruning and cutting tasks. It features a high-quality guide chain, a pure copper motor for efficient cutting, and a lightweight design for single-handed operation.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Battery

The chainsaw is powered by a 20V 1500mAh rechargeable lithium battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use and after each use for optimal performance and longevity.

1. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet.
2. Insert the battery into the charger. The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status.
3. A full charge typically takes approximately two hours.
4. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

Note: If the chainsaw will not be used for an extended period, fully charge the battery before storage.

4.2 Installing the Chain and Guide Bar

The guide bar is typically pre-installed. If you need to install or replace the chain, follow these steps:

1. Ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw.
2. Loosen the nut on the side cover using the provided wrench and remove the cover.
3. Place the chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges are facing the correct direction (refer to the diagram on the guide bar).
4. Fit the chain onto the sprocket and then position the guide bar into its slot.
5. Replace the side cover and tighten the nut, ensuring the chain has proper tension. The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled around the guide bar by hand.

4.3 Oiling the Chain

Regular lubrication of the chain is essential for smooth operation and to prevent premature wear. Use appropriate bar and chain oil (not included) in the provided lubricant bottle.

1. Fill the lubricant bottle with bar and chain oil.
2. Apply a small amount of oil along the guide bar and chain before each use.
3. If not used for a long time, clean the chain and oil it for storage.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting the Chainsaw

1. Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely inserted into the chainsaw.
2. Hold the chainsaw firmly with one hand on the handle.
3. To start the chainsaw, press and hold the safety lock button (located near the trigger) and then press the trigger. The chainsaw will only operate when both are engaged.
4. Release the trigger to stop the chainsaw.

5.2 Cutting Techniques

• Pruning Branches: For small branches, position the chainsaw firmly against the branch and engage the trigger. Allow the saw to cut through the wood without forcing it.

6.1 Chain Care

• Tension: Periodically check the chain tension. A properly tensioned chain should be snug against the guide bar but still allow you to pull it around by hand. Adjust tension using the provided wrench if necessary.
• Lubrication: Always ensure the chain is adequately lubricated before and during use.

6.2 Cleaning and Storage

• After each use, remove the battery and clean the chainsaw thoroughly. Remove sawdust, debris, and any resin buildup from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing.
• Use a soft cloth and mild detergent if necessary. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Ensure the chainsaw is completely dry before storing.
• Always fit the guide bar cover when storing or transporting the chainsaw.
• Store the chainsaw and batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
