4. Installation

4.1 Measurement Guide

Accurate measurements are crucial for proper installation and function. Determine whether you will use an inside mount or an outside mount.

Inside Mount

  • The window frame depth should be at least 2 inches (≥ 2").
  • Order width should be 1/4" less than the actual window width.
  • Order height can be up to 72". The actual height can be adjusted from 0" to 72".

Outside Mount

  • Order width should be at least 4" longer than the actual window width to ensure full coverage.
  • Order height can be up to 72". The actual height can be adjusted from 0" to 72".

4.2 Mounting Steps

  1. Mark the desired positions for the mounting brackets on the window frame or wall, based on your chosen mount type.
  2. Drill pilot holes at the marked positions.
  3. Secure the mounting brackets using the provided screws.
  4. Carefully attach the roller shade assembly to the installed brackets, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
  5. Install the valance cover by clipping it onto the top rail.

4.3 Battery Installation

The motorized shades require 6 AA batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartment on the motor unit, typically accessible by removing an end cap or cover. Insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-) and secure the cover.

5. Operation

5.1 Remote Control Functions

The included remote control allows for basic operation of your roller shades.

  • Down Arrow: Lowers the shade.
  • Stop Button: Stops the shade at its current position.
  • Favorite Position Button: Moves the shade to a pre-set favorite position.

5.2 Setting Limits and Favorite Positions

Refer to the detailed instructions provided with your remote control for programming upper and lower limits, as well as a favorite intermediate position for your shades.

5.3 Smart Home Integration (Optional)

To enable smart home features, a compatible smart hub (e.g., Tuya-compatible) is required. Once connected, your shades can be controlled via voice commands or a smartphone app.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning Instructions

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your roller shades:

  • Dust the fabric regularly with a soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
  • For spot cleaning, gently wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the fabric or coating.
  • Ensure the fabric is completely dry before rolling up the shade to prevent mildew.

6.2 Battery Replacement

When the motor's operation becomes sluggish or unresponsive, it may be time to replace the batteries. Access the battery compartment as described in Section 4.3 and replace all 6 AA batteries with new ones. Ensure correct polarity.
