Setup
1. Charging the Battery
The Albrecht DR 114 features an integrated 5000 mAh Lithium-ion battery that can be charged via three methods:
- USB-C Charging: Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the device's USB-C port and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator will illuminate. A full charge typically takes several hours.
- Solar Charging: Place the radio with its solar panel facing direct sunlight. The solar charging indicator will light up. Solar charging is slower and best for maintaining charge or for emergency top-ups.
- Hand-Crank Charging: Unfold the hand-crank handle. Rotate the crank clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace (approx. 120-150 RPM). One minute of cranking can provide enough power for a few minutes of radio use or a short burst of light. This method is ideal for emergencies when other power sources are unavailable.
2. Initial Power On
Press and hold the Power button (
) for a few seconds until the display illuminates. The radio will typically start in the last used mode (DAB+, FM, or Bluetooth).
Operating Instructions
1. Radio Operation (DAB+/FM)
- Switching Modes: Press the Mode button to cycle between DAB+, FM, and Bluetooth modes.
- Tuning (DAB+): In DAB+ mode, the radio will automatically scan for available stations upon first use. Use the Tune/Volume buttons (

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to about 50% every few months to prolong its lifespan.
