Operating Instructions

Using Single-Use Bags

  1. Prepare the Bag: Unroll the plastic bag roll and drape the desired amount over the top of the device. Use the magnetic bag cutter to cut the plastic to your desired length. Ensure one end of the bag is already sealed (this is typically how the roll comes).
  2. Fill the Bag: Place the food item you wish to seal into the plastic bag. Ensure the top two inches of the bag remain free from food or moisture to allow for a proper seal.
  3. Position for Sealing: Open the vacuum sealer cover. Align the open side of the plastic bag onto the Sealing Strip within the Vacuum Channel.
  4. Close the Cover: Push down firmly on both sides of the cover until you hear a click on each side, indicating it is properly closed and latched.
  5. Select Food Setting (Optional): Use the "Food" button to toggle between "Dry" and "Moist" settings based on the food type. The corresponding indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Vacuum and Seal: Press the "Vac Seal / Cancel" button. The device will automatically vacuum the air out of the bag and then initiate the sealing process. The indicator light above the button will turn off when the cycle is complete.
  7. Release: Press the "Open" buttons on both sides of the device to release the cover and remove your sealed bag.
Three-step guide to using the DASH SuperSeal Vacuum Sealer: make bag, fill it up, vacuum and seal

Image: A visual guide illustrating the three simple steps for using the vacuum sealer: making the bag, filling it with food, and then vacuuming and sealing.

Strength Tip: For extra strength, apply a second seal next to your first seal. Do NOT apply a second seal directly over your first seal.

Chip Bag Tip: The separate sealing function can be used to reseal Mylar bags, such as chip bags, to maintain freshness without vacuuming. Simply position the open end of the bag on the sealing strip and press the "Seal" button.

Using Reusable Bags

  1. Fill the Bag: Place the food item into a reusable bag. Ensure the top two inches of the bag are free from food.
  2. Close the Bag: Close the bag by running your fingers along the zipper seal at the top to ensure it is completely sealed.
  3. Attach Suction Tube: Insert the connector of the Suction Tube into the port on the side of the vacuum sealer. Twist to secure.
  4. Position Suction Tube: Cover the plastic vent on the reusable bag with the silicone end of the Suction Tube. Gently apply pressure to hold it in place.
  5. Vacuum: Press the "Vacuum" button. The device will begin to remove air from the reusable bag. Continue to hold the suction tube firmly over the vent until the desired vacuum level is achieved.
  6. Remove Suction Tube: Once vacuuming is complete, remove the Suction Tube from the bag's vent.

Storing Delicate Food (e.g., Bread)

For more delicate foods that could be crushed by full vacuum pressure, use the "Cancel" function:

  1. Prepare and Position: Place the delicate food item in a single-use bag and position it in the vacuum channel as described above.
  2. Initiate Vacuum: Press the "Vac Seal / Cancel" button. The device will begin to vacuum.
  3. Cancel Vacuum: As soon as the desired amount of air is removed (before the food is crushed), press the "Vac Seal / Cancel" button again to stop the vacuum process and immediately initiate the sealing process. This preserves the food's shape while still sealing the bag.
