  1. Prepare the Pipe: Cut the pipe to the desired length using the provided pipe cutter. Deburr the edges to ensure a smooth surface.
  2. Install Fitting: Slide the appropriate fitting onto the pipe end.
  3. Select Dies: Install the correct crimping dies for the pipe size and fitting type as described in Section 4.
  4. Position the Tool: Place the tool's jaws squarely over the fitting. Ensure the fitting is centered within the dies.
  5. Engage Hydraulic System: Turn the valve on the tool to the 'Work' position (clockwise) to prepare for crimping.
  6. Crimp the Fitting: Repeatedly operate the handle to apply pressure. The jaws will close, crimping the fitting. Continue until the tool automatically releases or the handles meet.
  7. Release Pressure: Turn the valve to the 'Reset' position (counter-clockwise) to release the pressure and open the jaws.
  8. Inspect Crimp: Remove the tool and visually inspect the crimped connection for completeness and security.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your tool:

  • Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the tool and dies with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
  • Lubrication: Periodically apply a light coat of machine oil to the moving parts of the tool and the dies to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.
  • Inspection: Regularly check for any signs of wear, damage, or loose components. Pay close attention to the dies for any deformation.
  • Seal Replacement: If you notice any hydraulic fluid leaks or decreased pressure, the internal seals may need replacement. Refer to the spare seals provided or contact customer support.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, try these common troubleshooting steps:

  • Incomplete Crimp: Ensure the correct dies are used for the fitting size and material. Verify the pipe and fitting are properly seated. Check for sufficient hydraulic fluid.
  • Tool Not Building Pressure: Ensure the 'Work' valve is fully closed (clockwise). Check for any visible hydraulic fluid leaks, which may indicate a faulty seal.
  • Jaws Not Opening: Ensure the 'Reset' valve is fully open (counter-clockwise). If the issue persists, there might be an internal hydraulic blockage or a mechanical issue.
  • Stuck Dies: Do not force the dies. Ensure the pressure is fully released. If necessary, gently tap the dies to loosen them.

For persistent issues, please contact iGeelee customer support.
