Dimensions of the maXpeedingrods MXR4500i Pro generator

Image 3.2.1: The generator measures approximately 43.51 cm (length) x 37.49 cm (width) x 45.49 cm (height) and weighs 26 kg.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the generator and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any damage during shipping. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

4.2 Adding Engine Oil

IMPORTANT: The generator is shipped without engine oil. Operating without oil will cause severe engine damage and void the warranty.

  1. Place the generator on a level surface.
  2. Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  3. Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  4. Using the provided oil funnel, slowly add 0.6 liters of recommended 4-stroke engine oil (e.g., 10W-30) until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
  5. Securely replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.

4.3 Adding Fuel

WARNING: Use fresh, unleaded gasoline only. Do not use E85 or mixed fuels. Refuel in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.

  1. Ensure the generator engine is off and cool.
  2. Unscrew the fuel cap.
  3. Slowly add unleaded gasoline to the fuel tank, being careful not to overfill. Leave a small air gap at the top.
  4. Securely replace the fuel cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.

4.4 Grounding the Generator

For safety, the generator must be properly grounded. Connect a grounding wire (not included) from the generator's grounding terminal to an appropriate ground source, such as a ground rod.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting the Generator

Follow these steps for a quick start:

  1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all safety precautions are observed.
  2. Turn the fuel valve to the 'ON' position.
  3. Move the choke lever to the 'CHOKE' position (if the engine is cold).
  4. Turn the engine switch to the 'ON' position.
  5. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
  6. Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.

5.2 Connecting Electrical Devices

CAUTION: Do not connect devices exceeding the generator's running wattage (3200W) or peak wattage (3500W).

  1. Ensure the generator is running stably.
  2. Plug your electrical devices into the appropriate AC (230V) or DC (12V) outlets on the control panel.
  3. Monitor the generator's load using the digital display.

5.4 Stopping the Generator

  1. Disconnect all electrical devices from the generator.
  2. Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
  3. Turn the engine switch to the 'OFF' position.
  4. Turn the fuel valve to the 'OFF' position.

6. Maintenance

WARNING: Always turn off the generator and allow it to cool before performing any maintenance.

6.1 Regular Checks

  • Before each use, check the engine oil level and fuel level.
  • Inspect for any loose fasteners, fuel leaks, or damaged components.

6.2 Oil Change

Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 50-100 hours or annually, whichever comes first.

  1. Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then shut it off.
  2. Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug.
  3. Remove the oil drain plug and oil fill cap/dipstick to allow the oil to drain completely.
  4. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
  5. Refill with the recommended amount and type of new engine oil (0.6 liters, 10W-30).
  6. Replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.

6.3 Spark Plug Inspection

Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually. Clean or replace if necessary.

6.4 Air Filter Cleaning

Clean the air filter element every 50 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions. Wash in warm, soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry completely before reinstallation.

6.5 Storage

For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and carburetor, or add a fuel stabilizer. Change the engine oil. Clean the generator thoroughly and store it in a dry, well-ventilated area.
