This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, setup, and operation of your BIWIBON Smart Door Knob BDA 01. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety. Keep this manual for future reference.

2. Product Overview

The BIWIBON Smart Door Knob BDA 01 offers advanced security and convenience with multiple unlocking methods. It is designed for easy integration into your smart home system.

5. Installation Guide

The BIWIBON Smart Door Knob is designed for easy DIY installation. A screwdriver is the only tool required. Please check your door size before purchase to ensure compatibility.

Pre-installation Checks:

• Verify door thickness is between 1-3/8" (35mm) to 2-3/16" (55mm).
• Confirm adjustable latch backset is 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm).

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Door: Use the provided drill template to mark and drill holes if necessary. Ensure existing holes match the required dimensions.
2. Adjust and Install Latch: Adjust the latch to the correct backset (60mm or 70mm) for your door. Insert the latch into the door edge, ensuring it is horizontal, and secure it with screw A.
3. Install Front Handle: Route the wire through the square cotter and insert it into the latch hole. Fix the front panel to the door.
4. Install Back Handle: Remove the battery cover from the back handle. Route the wire through the back panel and connect it to the battery box. Fix the back handle to the door using screw B. Ensure the handle is pressed down to insert and tighten the screw through the hole in the back handle.
5. Insert Batteries: Install 4 AAA batteries (not included) into the battery box. Ensure tight wire connection and replace the battery cover.

6. App Setup & Operation

Manage your BIWIBON Smart Door Knob using the Tuya Smart app.

6.1. App Registration

1. Download the Tuya Smart app from Google Play or App Store. Search for "Tuya Smart".
2. Tap on "Sign Up" to get started.
3. Fill in your mobile number or email.
4. Agree to the terms and tap "Get verification code". A verification code will be sent to verify your account.
5. Enter the verification code and set your password.

6.2. Pairing Your Lock

Note: Ensure mobile Bluetooth is turned on before pairing the lock.

1. Turn on your mobile Bluetooth.
2. Open the Tuya Smart app. Tap on "Add Device" or the '+' icon.
3. The app will automatically search for devices. Tap on "Add" when your lock is found.
4. Once successfully added, tap on the pencil icon to name the lock.
5. Fill in the lock name as needed and tap "Done".

If the lock cannot be searched automatically, you can add it manually:

1. In the app, select "Add device manually".
2. Tap on "Camera & Lock" and then select "BLE".
3. Click the checkmark and tap "Next".
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the device if prompted.
5. Once added successfully, tap on the pencil icon to name the lock.
6. Fill in the lock name as needed and tap "Done".

6.3. App Unlock

This will only work while you are within Bluetooth range of the lock (general Bluetooth working distance is 12 to 20 meters depending on objects in the space).

• In the app, slide the key icon to unlock.

6.4. How to Add Fingerprint

Note: Record the fingerprint at different angles for better user experience when opening the lock.

1. Tap on "Member Management".
2. Tap on "Me Admin".
3. Tap on "Add" below "Fingerprint".
4. Tap on "Add".
5. Put your finger on the sensor 4 times as required. The fingerprint will be added successfully.
6. Enter the added fingerprint name.
7. Tap on "OK".
8. The first fingerprint is now added. Follow the above instructions for other fingerprints if needed.

6.5. Free Passage Mode

Keep the door unlocked (in or out freely) and open the door without any verification.

• To Turn On: Tap on "setting" in the app. Turn "Auto Lock" off. Place a registered finger at the fingerprint reader to activate the free passage mode.
• To Turn Off: Tap on "settings" in the app. Open "Auto Lock" and free passage mode turns off. Place a registered finger at the fingerprint reader to activate the free passage mode turning off.

6.6. Authorized Admin

Note: The person you want to authorize as an admin needs to download the Tuya Smart App and register it first. Then you can authorize admin to him or her.

1. Tap on "Member Management".
2. Tap on '+' and then "add".
3. Enter the Name and Account (phone number or email address used during registration) that needs to be authorized.
4. Tap on "Family Role" and choose "Administrator".
5. Tap on "Save". The system will send an invitation to the admin you want to authorize.
6. Confirm the invitation and tap "Accept" (this step is performed on the phone of the admin you want to authorize).
7. Authorized Admin successfully.

6.7. Delete Admin

1. Tap on "Me".
2. Tap on "Home Management".
3. Tap on "Home".
4. Tap on the member you want to remove.
5. Tap on "Remove Member".
6. Tap on "OK".

6.8. Restore to Factory Default Setting

Note: All data are removed (any finger can unlock the door) after restoring factory default setting, and you need to re-pair the lock as per the "Pairing Your Lock" instructions.

1. Tap on the pencil icon next to the device name.
2. Tap on "Remove Device".
3. Tap on "Disconnect and wipe data".
4. Tap on "Confirm".
5. No devices will be listed.

6.9. How to Add Tuya Gateway for Remote Unlock/Lock

Note: Please make sure the mobile Bluetooth is turned on before pairing the gateway.

1. Tap on '+' and "Add Device".
2. Discovering devices and Tap on "Add".
3. Enter your Wifi information.
4. Gateway added successfully.
5. Tap on "Done".

In case the gateway cannot be searched automatically, you can add it manually:

1. Tap on "Gateway Control" and then "Wireless Gateway (BLE)" under menu "Add Device".
2. Click the checkmark and tap "Next".
3. Enter Wi-Fi information.
4. Gateway added successfully.
5. Tap on "Done".

6.10. How to Pair the Lock with Tuya Gateway

1. Tap on "Add Device" under the gateway.
2. Tap on "Add existing".
3. Select the lock and tap on "confirm".
4. Tap on "Connect Now".
5. Tap on "Finish".
6. Lock Added successfully.

7. Maintenance

• Regularly check battery levels and replace AAA batteries as needed.
• Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and free from dirt or moisture to ensure optimal performance.
• Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents on the lock's surface. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
• Ensure the door and frame are in good condition to prevent misalignment or excessive force on the lock.

8. Troubleshooting

• Lock not responding: Check battery levels. Replace batteries if low. Ensure the fingerprint sensor is clean.
• Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try different angles or re-register your fingerprint.
• App connection issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. If using a gateway, verify its Wi-Fi connection. Try re-pairing the lock with the app.
• Lock does not engage/disengage properly: Check for any obstructions in the door frame or latch mechanism. Ensure the latch is correctly aligned and secured.
• Lock drains batteries quickly: Ensure you are using high-quality alkaline AAA batteries. Excessive usage or poor signal strength (if using gateway) can affect battery life.
