1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Sejoy Baby Formula Kettle. This device is designed to quickly and precisely heat water to the desired temperature for baby formula, cereals, and other beverages, maintaining the temperature for extended periods. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure safe and optimal operation.

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

• Read all instructions before using the appliance.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the appliance base in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

4. Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the glass kettle and lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the heating base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the heating base in water.
3. Placement: Place the heating base on a dry, flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The display will illuminate.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

1. Fill the Kettle: Open the lid and fill the glass kettle with clean water. Observe the MIN (300ml) and MAX (1200ml) fill lines. Do not overfill.
2. Place on Base: Securely place the filled kettle onto the heating base.
3. Power On: Press the power button (U) to turn on the device.
4. Select Function/Temperature: Use the control buttons (e.g., 'Boil', 'Keep Warm', '+', '-') to select your desired function or adjust the temperature.

5.2 Temperature Control and Keep Warm Function

The kettle offers precise temperature control from 35°C to 95°C (95°F to 203°F). The default 'Keep Warm' temperature is 45°C (113°F).

• Adjusting Temperature: After selecting a function, press the '+' or '-' buttons to fine-tune the target temperature.
• Keep Warm: Once the desired temperature is reached, the kettle will automatically enter 'Keep Warm' mode, maintaining the set temperature for up to 72 hours.

5.3 Specific Applications

• Baby Formula Preparation: Heat water to the recommended temperature for your baby's formula (typically 40-50°C / 104-122°F). The kettle can maintain this temperature, allowing for quick bottle preparation.
• Baby Cereal: Prepare water at approximately 70°C (158°F) for mixing with baby cereals.
• Coffee/Tea: Heat water to 92°C (197.6°F) for optimal coffee brewing or 100°C (212°F) for boiling water for tea.
• Thawing Breast Milk: The kettle can be used to gently warm water for thawing breast milk. Place the sealed breast milk bag or bottle into the warmed water. Do not directly heat breast milk in the kettle.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

• Always unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Glass Kettle and Lid: Wash with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry. The glass kettle is dishwasher safe.
• Heating Base: Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the base in water.
• Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar (or a commercial descaling solution). Bring to a boil and let it soak for 30 minutes to an hour, or overnight for heavy buildup. Empty the kettle, rinse thoroughly several times, and boil fresh water once or twice to remove any residual vinegar taste.

6.2 Storage

When not in use, ensure the kettle is clean and dry. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.

7. Troubleshooting

• Kettle not heating: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the kettle is properly seated on the heating base. Check if the power button has been pressed.
• Water not reaching desired temperature: Verify that the temperature setting is correct. If limescale buildup is present, descale the kettle as per cleaning instructions.
• Display not working: Unplug the unit for a few minutes, then plug it back in. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
• Boiling dry protection activated: If the kettle boils dry, it will automatically shut off. Allow the unit to cool down before refilling with water and resuming operation.
