Installation Instructions

These JESLED 8FT LED tubes are dual-end powered and require a ballast bypass installation. This means the existing fluorescent ballast must be removed from the fixture. Follow these steps carefully:

Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the lighting fixture and turn off the power. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
Remove Old Fluorescent Tubes: Carefully remove the existing fluorescent tubes from the fixture.
Remove/Bypass Ballast: Open the fixture to access the wiring. Disconnect and remove the existing fluorescent ballast. Refer to the wiring diagram below for proper connections.
Rewire Fixture:
- Connect the Live (L) wire from the power source to one end of the fixture's tombstone (socket).
- Connect the Neutral (N) wire from the power source to the other end of the fixture's tombstone (socket).
- Ensure all connections are secure using wire nuts or appropriate connectors.
Install LED Tubes: Insert the JESLED 8FT LED tubes into the rewired fixture. The R17D base requires pushing the pins into the fixture's sockets and then twisting to lock them in place. Ensure the rotatable ends are adjusted to direct light as desired.
Restore Power: Close the fixture cover and turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
