4.1. Deck Sections (Left and Right)

5. Setup Guide
5.1. Software Installation
The DDJ-FLX4 is compatible with rekordbox and Serato DJ Lite. Download the latest version of your preferred software from the official Pioneer DJ or Serato website.
- Visit rekordbox.com or serato.com/dj/lite.
- Download the installer for your operating system (Windows/macOS).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Ensure your software is updated to the latest version for optimal performance.
5.2. Connecting the Controller
- Connect the supplied USB Type-C cable to the USB port on the DDJ-FLX4.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB port on your computer or compatible mobile device. The controller will power on automatically.
- Connect your speakers or amplifier to the Master Output (RCA) on the rear panel of the DDJ-FLX4.
- Connect your headphones to the Headphone Output on the front panel.
- If using a microphone, connect it to the MIC Input on the rear panel.
Note: For mobile device connectivity, ensure your device supports USB Audio Class Compliant mode and has sufficient power or use a powered USB hub if necessary.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Basic DJ Functions
- Loading Tracks: Use the LOAD buttons in the mixer section to browse and load tracks from your music library into Deck 1 or Deck 2.
- Playing and Pausing: Press the PLAY/PAUSE button on each deck to start or stop playback.
- Setting Cue Points: While a track is paused, move the jog wheel to the desired starting point and press the CUE button. Press CUE again during playback to return to the cue point.
- Adjusting Volume: Use the Channel Faders to control the volume of each deck and the Master Level knob for overall output.
- Mixing Tracks: Use the Crossfader to blend between the two decks. Adjust EQ knobs (High, Mid, Low) to shape the sound of each track.
- Beat Matching: Use the Tempo Fader and Jog Wheels to synchronize the BPM and phase of two tracks.
6.2. Smart Mixing Features
- Smart Fader: This feature simplifies transitions between tracks. When activated, moving the crossfader automatically adjusts the volume, bass, and BPM of the tracks to create a smooth mix. To use, ensure Smart Fader is enabled in your software settings if applicable, then simply move the crossfader.
- Smart CFX: This allows you to apply a combination of effects with a single knob. Rotate the Smart CFX knob in the mixer section to introduce dynamic effects to your mix.
6.3. Microphone Usage
Connect a microphone to the MIC input. Adjust the microphone volume using the MIC Level knob in the mixer section. The DDJ-FLX4 features USB audio output for microphone sound, allowing the microphone audio to be routed through the software and recorded.
6.4. Streaming Service Integration
The DDJ-FLX4 offers seamless integration with selected streaming services through rekordbox or Serato DJ Lite. Refer to your software's documentation for a list of supported services and instructions on how to link your accounts and access their music libraries.
7. Maintenance
