3. Installation Guide
The hardwire kit connects directly to your car's fuse box, providing a permanent and hidden power solution for your dash cam. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with vehicle electrical systems.
3.1 Identifying Fuse Box Connections
Before connecting, you need to identify the correct fuse slots for BAT+ (constant power) and ACC (switched power).
- Identify BAT+ (Normal Electricity):
Turn off your vehicle. Use a vehicle electric test pen to check fuses in the fuse box. A fuse that shows power with the vehicle off is a constant power source (BAT+). Connect the yellow wire from the hardwire kit to this fuse using an appropriate fuse tap. - Identify ACC (Switched Electricity):
With the vehicle off, use a test pen to find fuses that show no power. Then, start the car and re-test. A fuse that now shows power is a switched power source (ACC). Connect the red wire from the hardwire kit to this fuse using an appropriate fuse tap.

3.2 Wiring Connections
- Connect the red wire to the identified ACC fuse slot.
- Connect the yellow wire to the identified BAT+ (normal electricity) fuse slot.
- Connect the black wire to a metal part of the car chassis for ground (GND). Ensure a secure connection.

3.3 Cable Routing
Route the Type-C cable from the fuse box to your dash cam, typically along the A-pillar and headliner, to conceal the wiring.

4. Operation
4.1 24-Hour Parking Monitoring
Once the hardwire kit is correctly installed, your dash cam can utilize its 24-hour parking monitoring mode. This feature allows the dash cam to remain powered and record events even when the vehicle is turned off, providing continuous surveillance.

4.2 Low Voltage Protection
The hardwire kit incorporates a low voltage protection mechanism. If your vehicle's battery voltage drops below 11.8V (+-0.2V), the kit will automatically cut off power to the dash cam after 60 seconds. This prevents excessive battery drain and ensures your vehicle can start reliably.

5. Maintenance
- Regularly check all connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
- Keep the hardwire kit and its components clean and free from dust or debris.
- Avoid exposing the cables to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods, which can degrade the insulation.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Common Issues and Solutions
- Dash Cam Not Receiving Power:
Ensure the red (ACC) and yellow (BAT+) wires are correctly connected to their respective fuse slots. Verify the black (GND) wire has a solid connection to the vehicle chassis. Check the fuse taps and the fuses themselves for proper function. - Parking Monitor Not Working:
Confirm that your dash cam's parking monitoring feature is enabled in its settings. Ensure the yellow (BAT+) wire is connected to a constant power source. - Vehicle Battery Drains:
The hardwire kit includes low voltage protection. If your battery still drains, ensure the protection threshold is correctly set (if adjustable on your dash cam) and that the kit is functioning as intended. This kit is not applicable to trucks with voltage above 24V. - Interference with Other Electronics:
Ensure the wiring is routed away from sensitive electronic components to prevent potential interference.
Important Note: This hardwire kit is specifically designed for HUPEJOS dash cams. Other brands of hardwire kits may not be compatible with HUPEJOS dash cams. Installation steps may vary by vehicle model and specific conditions. It is strongly recommended to refer to your vehicle's manual or seek professional assistance if needed.
